Browns trade Kizer for Randall

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The mystery of DeShone Kizer. I never wanted him on the team, but when the Browns drafted him, plenty of teams claimed they were about to snatch him up. He needs to sit for a long time, and the Browns weren't equipped to provide that. It's easy to say the game will never slow down for him, but it just might if the Packers give him enough time. Josh McCown looked like dog shit as a starter in 2004 and rode the bench for a decade before proving he learned.

Many said the same about Favre after his Falcons days...

I’m not sure what Kizer will be ? But honestly— if his on the field intellect catches up with his off the field intellect that will be a bad man..

Such a shame.. All the physical gifts one can want— seems to be as intelligent of an athlete as one can find yet it doesn’t translate on the field..

If the game slows down for him and someone can really coach that talent he will be a force..
His slow processing on the field was only one of his many flaws

The biggest of which is his horrendous accuracy. There were so many throws that were just no where close to his intended target, a big contributor to his league leading interceptions

You paint way too rosy of a picture of Kizer. He was the worst rookie QB literally ever.

Anyone waiting for a switch to go off with him will be waiting a long time. His accuracy issues are much more concerning than the speed of the game for me. Even with a clean pocket and an open receiver you still had no idea what you were going to get from Kizer

I think Kizer’s processing speed will improve with experience, but I just don’t think he enough functional accuracy to ever truly succeed on a consistent basis in the NFL.

He could be coached/schemed better than he was last year, but he left a lot of yards on the field with inaccuracy.

I root for the kid. Hopefully with Rodgers as a mentor he'll figure some things out. But I'm glad we got a playable DB for him.

The Browns deserved what they got. Kizer was horrible at Notre Dame, but somehow he's gonna become a good NFL quarterback? That pick was a waste. They also threw away a number one pick on Peppers. He's garbage too.

Dorsey is showing signs of knowing what he's doing.

SI's Peter King thinks Randall could play free safety:

"I like acquiring safety Demarious Randall for quarterback DeShone Kizer (plus swapping draft spots in the fourth and fifth rounds) for Cleveland; the Browns will likely play Randall at his college position, free safety, instead of trying to convert him into a corner, as the Packers did for part of his tenure in Green Bay. Defensive coordinator Gregg Williams could play Randall in the one-high-safety look he likes to play, and Randall should be a good fit in that rangy spot. "

That’s nonsense.

The hellfire angel must be on the field of play when the ball is snapped or it’s illegal for him to run on.

I recommend putting him at the goal line.

Which goal line?

Not sure how you compare Favre as a Falcon as he only threw 4 balls as a falcon. Not at all similar.

Falcon, Packer ? 92, 93ish ? whenever it was ?? Guy threw something like 20 plus interceptions and then cut it drastically the following 4 or 5 seasons..

He at least established himself as a top shelf QB before really throwing INT’s all over the place later in his career...

I wonder if they shop Kindred. He's a quality starting safety but I think he's more expendable now that Peppers is playing his natural position.

It wouldn't be a bad thing to keep both and have them compete to be the starter either.

Not really to be honest.

FIrst full year in 92 he was 18td's and 13 int's
2nd year was when he threw 19td's and 24 int's

But, he threw 23 ints in 98 then again in 99 and 29 int's in 2005. (vs only 20 td's)

For his career he threw 508 td's and 336 int's. Never really got over the INT bug and is why I think he is one of the more over rated qb's in the history of the game. In his 20 years in the league, he threw as many int's as td's or more 7 years.

In fact, Favre is the career leader by a very large margin 336-277 in int's.

Yea but didn’t he have 3 or 4 seasons after that early 24 INT season where he really dialed them back ? In the 12, 13 range ?? Including the Super Bowl Years ?

I mean if the guy was throwing 25 interceptions a season before getting to that point he probably wouldn’t have had his opportunity ? Pretty sure tho after the 24 int year he had a run of 3 or 4 seasons where they were cut back significantly ?? Might be wrong tho..
