Okay, I do own a 21 Hyundai Sonata so that doesn't help matters (though it can't be stolen by thr Kia Boyz) but my insurance in a calendar year has literally double for the same level of coverage and it's like 194 a month and I drive less than 8,000 a year... I also have USAA, (the company used to be amazing but cut so many good features in the last few years...). It's been years since I have had even a speeding ticket, so everything is off of the record for that as well... Has everyone else seen this big of an increase in their insurance? Aka I am trying to see if this is going on with everyone else and honestly if I should sell mine and get a new one or not...

I have a 2022 genesis GV 70 and my premiums just went up a little less than 25%. I spoke with my insurance company (State Farm) and they told me the vehicle has been classified under a new “rating”. Apparently, it’s just become more expensive to repair or replace. I’m sure there’s some truth to that, and the rest is some pocket padding.

I’ve been with State Farm for almost 25 years and they handle my home, life, disability, Auto and umbrella coverages. I’ve had a few claims over the years and they’ve been seamless to work with. So I’m stuck with this as a cost of doing business.

Semi-annual reminder that as cars get more expensive, your rates will continue to go up moving forward.

Insursnce industry got hammered by COVID, and they’re playing catchup.

I was less than 100 dollars a month on mine two years ago when I got it brand new...

We pay $1250 per year for two cars , a 2018 and 2021. Our rates stayed the same this year for them but house insurance went up a chunk. We been with the same insurance company for over 30 yrs, Erie Insurance.

I went from less than 100 a month to 194 a month for my one car in a years time... Same coverage and everything! I drive less than 8k in miles a year and have a clean record... This is getting a bit much...

I will pay at least 2300 this year for insurance on my one car...

There is already a car insurance thread, but the option /answer is: you need to shop around a bit.

I believe the poster on the other thread ended up saving around 50% by shopping around. My own experience was similar.

I couldn't find it, so I started a new one...

Yeah I am probably gonna start shopping around, but I actually like USAA and it's services, but I feel they are going downhill but my family has been with them essentially for decades...

It can be tedious, that is for sure.

Like I started to look online and they all want a number to call to talk/text and it's like dude, just give me a quote via email and if I like you, I'll arrange to call if need be...

Here is where you need to be mindful, they will want to know how much you're paying now. Try not to reveal that without getting a quote first.

Generally shopping around every 3-5 years is a pretty good idea. State farm and Erie are generally my two lowest quotes. That said my homeowners insurance has regularly gone up 10%+ a year for about 10 years now. I saved about 25% when I switched providers 5 years ago, however every company I've talked to is regularly increasing their rates

Working with an independent agent can be helpful. They typically have 10+ insurance companies they work with and can shop around for you.

Of course they will guide you toward the ones that pay them the best commissions, but either way, they want to get your business, so the good ones will find the right deal for you.
