Car Insurance

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There is already a car insurance thread, but the option /answer is: you need to shop around a bit.

I believe the poster on the other thread ended up saving around 50% by shopping around. My own experience wss similar.
My insurance agent died a couple years ago and his replacement didn't do much for me. This year's bill was for a near 30% increase after a slightly smaller increase last year. I got a bunch of online quotes and called several local agents, all of whom offered me substantial savings with similar coverage. I went with Allstate because I like dealing with a local agent in person and saved almost 50% with home and auto.

If you don’t want to call, go to thezebra.com. They basically share your info for quotes like an Indy agent does.
Was able to get a decent quote from progressive. Thanks for this!

Yes I will fix that... I meant a year! Lol

Car insurance rates are crazy. I work at home and drive a little bit less than you. This is what I pay with Tesla Insurance. If Tesla can do that, other car insurance companies should be able to. Tesla uses real time driver monitoring to adjust the rates, I keep my score at or near 100 to keep the rates low.

I've had progressive for 3 years, after Westfield dropped me for a speeding ticket. It has gone up slightly each year, but nothing outrageous.

3 newer cars, 3 adult drivers, full coverage, paying about $47/month, each, in NEO.

Granted none of us drive more than 10k miles per year, but I feel like I am in a decent spot, for now.

Take the time. Do due diligence. Call several agents, work the Internet.. Be savvy, uncommitted... Make them want to give you a quote.. Generally these folks are salespeople and want to maximize their cut. Keep that in mind.. A new client is an avenue for other new clients/family members.. That alone is a TON of incentive.

It is apparent to me this approach will save you anywhere from a few percentage points to cutting your bill in half.

It did for me and several other posters.

My progressive just doubled, but that is because I have 2 Hyundai's on my police. the theft of them is very real unfortunately.

I don't know if I wanna keep my 21 or not... like my insurance is half of my car payment now...
