Carmelo Anthony

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Would you like Melo on this team if you didn't have to trade Love?

  • Yes

  • No

  • Depends on who we have to trade (really?)

Shumpert+JR together are due to make $24 million next year, Carmelo will be at $26 million. Like BUCKED said, we could make a trade work if the Knicks are willing to go back to the future. Our bad contracts for theirs.

Fuck that. Would rather keep JR and see what we could maybe get for Shump, Cedi, and a future pick. If he gets bought out I'd take him for the MLE but that's about it. He's scheduled to make $53 mill over the next two seasons :puke:

No way I'm trading a guy in JR who's proven himself to be a useful part of a championship team for a guy in Carmelo who is rapidly aging and has always been a "me" first guy. No Thanks. Then again if LeBron wants it, it's going to happen.

I almost want to say this whole saga is unbeliavble but its the Knicks

Like damn its almost refreshing Phil didnt go the route of everything being sunshine and rainbows

Phil Jackson doesn't seem to understand the basic concept of scarcity drives price. The more he makes it clear that the Knicks want Carmelo gone and that he's available, the less we are going to get for him.

They're trying to get him to accept a buyout. I don't think anyone is gonna trade for him at that number with his no-trade clause still attached.

I had actually never considered this angle. But that's gonna end up being one hell of an expensive buyout given Melo's track record for going after every penny he could get.

As far as I can surmise, a buyout seems unfathomable...

The Knicks owe Melo $54M over the next two years with Melo holding a no-trade clause.. I can't imagine a reason for Melo to accept anything less than his full contract amount, and even if he took 80 cents on the dollar, then why would the Knicks even consider an offer to buy him out rather than to simply flat out salary dump him to the Clippers or Cavs (given his no trade clause)?

That's kinda where I am in that thought process...

I mean, does it make any rational sense to pay out that kind of money simply to have Melo sign for the minimum with the Clippers or Cavs anyway (since NYK will be paying the vast majority of his salary regardless?).

Would it not be more prudent for the Knicks to find trade partners for the Cavs/Clippers to orchestrate a 3-team deal in which the Knicks can at least be rid of Melo's salary, at a minimum, rather than buying him out or trading him for unmovable non-assets.

Melo must have told her he was heading to Cleveland.

If true... What a disgusting bitch....

Fuckin' hell; what a piece of shit to have for a wife. Real talk.

Dude is obviously getting shitted on by his franchise, his career and any meaning it might have in the future are hanging in the balance with what happens next.. and you have this woman basically saying if you're not a Knick then I got no time for you?

Adios then bitch!! It's off to the races...

Cue all the delusional "Melo to Cavs!" talks

It's Rule #1 in the unofficial and unpublished NBA Wives Handbook. Always wait until after it's obvious the player has signed his last big contract, THEN leave.

Interesting how Phil wants to get fired/run Anthony out of town. Most fans are on board too but wait until KP is asking for a trade in 5-7 years. There will be screams of how players aren't loyal.

I've heard the separation has almost everything to do with the fact that she wants to stay in NYC and Melo is over the limelight and the drama.

La La has wanted to be a celebrity her whole life. I am not sure what Melo even sees in her. I've never thought she was easy on the eyes. Surely $124 million can nab you a girl with a symmetrical face. Melo should feel relieved. Chick is built like a god damn linebacker.
