MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES’ BENCH

CLEVELAND CAVALIERS’ NOTES

Rebound well and put pressure on the Grizzlies by going after offensive rebounds. Play big, get a good effort out of Gooden/Z and from there things will open up for the rest of Cleveland’s players.

If LeBron James sits out this game, the rest of the cast will need another strong effort. Playing multiple games without your leader and against sub .500 teams is a situation where the team could drop a game they shouldn’t.

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES’ NOTES

Pau Gasol needs to be aggressive and attack Cleveland’s big men relentlessly. Drive more often and shoot the finesse hook less.

Rudy Gay and Mike Miller will both need solid games combined from the 2/3 positions. If Memphis doesn’t get solid play from the wing position, the game could slip away from them in a hurry.

OVERVIEW

Cleveland is trying to catch Detroit and finish the season strong. So winning games like these are of vital importance. Go Cavs!

You dont lose games like this if you seriously want the #1 seed. Memphis are a decent team despite their woeful record, so we must play some solid ball.

Quick Facts for tonite:

· The Cavaliers are in the midst of a season-high six game winning streak. Cleveland’s 14 road wins this season are the second most among Eastern Conference teams.
· Cleveland has won two straight and four of the last five overall against Memphis. In seven career games against his former team, Drew Gooden has averaged 16.6
points on .528 shooting and 10.1 rebounds per game. He posted 22 points on 9-12 shooting and 15 rebounds in the first meeting this season (Nov. 21 at Cleveland).
· Over his last four games, Drew Gooden has averaged 16.0 points on .540 shooting and 9.0 rebounds. He has grabbed at least eight rebounds in all four games.
· Larry Hughes has averaged 18.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 6.3 assists per game over his last six games. He has dished out five or more assists in six straight games
which marks the second longest stretch of his career with five or more assists (eight straight games from Jan. 18-Feb. 3, 2002).
· During their current six-game win streak, Cleveland has averaged 104.8 points on .481 shooting while holding their opponents to 93.2 points on .411 shooting. The
Cavaliers lead the NBA in opponent field goal percentage since March 3.
· With a win tonight, Cleveland would sweep their second set of four games in five nights this season. The last time a Cavs team swept two sets of four games in five
nights during one season was in 1992-93 (Dec. 15-19, 1992 and Feb. 2-6, 1993).
· With 21 points tonight, LeBron James will reach 8,000 career points and become the youngest player in NBA history to do so. He is 21 years, 74 days old today.

That's baloney, you phony.
OK, that was just bad. I apologize.

Hopefully we stick with the inside outside offense that proved so effective last night. Memphis are also not the best interior defensive team.

Yahoo GameChannel has LeBron starting...

Reps.

Thanks brah.

Good start. Cavs up 16-15. Z having trouble keeping up with Gasol.

Gasol out slowing Z....

Cavs can get basically anything that want at the rim offensively. Memphis plays absolutely no defense.

Great to see AV playing transition with patience, good feed to Donyell for the easy bucket. 23-15 Cavs

Cavs playing fantastic offense right now. Memphis is such a porous defensive team.

Donyell for 3, and Brown made the correct substitution, AV is playing good defense on Gasol now. Hughes easy transition bucket. You're right, these guys play no defense.
