Yep, check out my last paragraph where I posed that very question. I do think that Blatt is a far better coach/option than either Gentry or Lue. However, it's been reported that Dan Gilbert wants to make a splash with this hiring. Gentry & Lue definately don't make a splash and Blatt is debatable. He would certainly generate some buzz, considering his success in Europe coupled with his lack of NBA experience.
This would make sense why the Cavaliers keep dragging this process out, all the while hoping that maybe one of these candidates would knock their socks off. It hasn't happened and know they're debating whether to wait until LeBron's intentions are known, which could open up a new pool of candidates.
The inverse of that is, what if Blatt is significantly better as a candidate than anyone else if LeBron doesn't come back?
