Nice stuff, Smooth... Pointless to discuss the draft because we'll end up selecting a player none of us really thought about, and he'll sit on the end of the bench...:chuckles:

Jermaine Taylor is an interesting prospect. He seems to be a Courtney Lee type player and if that's the case i can not see Ferry passing up on him if he falls to us.

That's a lie, I thought about Daniel Gibson!

I wonder if they'll look at Sam Young he seems like he can be a ariza/posey type player.

Joe Ingles looks like a nice pickup.

Only those two above did I feel could really help us out. Too many issues with the rest listed to consider any of them taking up a roster spot for us.

Jermaine Taylor is an interesting prospect. He seems to be a Courtney Lee type player and if that's the case i can not see Ferry passing up on him if he falls to us.

See, I don't know if that reminds me more of Shannon Brown (his current productive play notwithstanding) or of Lee. He's got a nice stroke for which he expends minimal effort, it seems like. That is one of the bigger barometers, to me, of an NBA-ready jumper.

If Ferry feels like it's more Lee than Shannon, the pick could be this guy if he's there. Or if somebody more NBA-ready, like Terrence Williams (a 10 pt, 3 ast player right NOW), Chase Budinger (a Hedo clone), Marcus Thornton (very polished, but slightly undersized perimeter scorer) is there...he could be the pick.

We BADLY BADLY need guys who can create offense sitting on the bench...or at the very least, someone who we can plug in at the starting 2 with a quick hook, moving Delonte the bench (where he would be a monster...I am one of a growing number of fans who believe he is a superior player to Mo). And I sincerely believe that Ferry will either go for a traditional 2-guard, or an all-everything swingman who plays the game like Turkoglu does.

Good power forwards can be had in free agency for the MLE (Lamar Odom is available and would really help us create the kind of matchup nightmares we are currently experiencing), or through trade (perhaps we pool resources to make a play at someone like Troy Murphy

I've always liked Josh Heytvelt. You can't teach length and size. I don't think he will ever become a starting center, but he could add some muscle and end up Matt Bonner.

I loved Marcus Thornton until I realized how badly we need some length at the swingman. His tweener status will not help us out as much as a guy like Mitchell, Lyons, or Sam Young.

I hope the Cavs will look at Danny Green: he's an all around threat avg 13 ppg, 4.7 rpg, 2.9 asp, 1.8 spg, and 1.4 bpg. 2pt%: 51.7, 3pt%: 41.8, FT%: 85.2. His stats can be misleading (but in a good way) because of all of the talent on the UNC roster (especially when you're playing with a guy trying to set the ACC's all-time scoring record). He's 6'6", and we do need some height in our backcourt at times. He doesn't mind doing the dirty work (like Delonte) or stepping up in crunch time. With Sasha probably gone and Wally being as inconsistent as he is, we need a solid 2/3 off the bench. He's smart, a great defender, decently athletic, has a lot of potential because of his work ethic; he can shoot, pass, and rebound, does whatever it takes to win (think Shane Battier), and really loves the game. Like Boobie, he can go competely nuts from beyond the arc, and he shot most of them at NBA range. Danny brought UNC an attitude and played with a wild, carefree style, and not only did he have clutch treys, but also he had countless huge blocks and rebounds. I like him mostly because his energy and hard work rubbed off on everybody, and maybe we can grab him in the second round.

YES CHOOSE JERMAINE TAYLOR

i have witnessed his potential and skill with my own eyes in the UCF arena!

Odom? Murphy? No.

Odom I can understand the case against him. But why not Murphy? How many other guys can you think of who average points-rebounds double double AND shoot 45% from 3 while shooting lots and lots of them? The dude was 2nd in the league in rebounds, so the "soft" argument doesn't fly...he's one of the more hard-nosed players in our division.

We have seen the nightmarish matchups that can be caused by inside-outside players...Murphy would be PERFECT here. He would give us the sorely needed frontcourt scorer we need, add valuable outside shooting punch, and be a long-term replacement for Big Z in that pick and pop game we love to run. That, and he would cause absolute fits for opposing defenses, as a legit threat on BOTH the low block and from the 3 point arc...and any offensive player's strategic advantage is multiplied several times over when you have LeBron James.

If Murphy is available, I really hope we make a move to get him. Indiana is in a horrible spot financially, and they're paying him star money when he's ideally a 3rd option on a title contender.

What pick do the Cavs have this year? Been wondering this for a bit.
