Cavs @ Lakers 3:30pm 1/27, ABC HD

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Cavs out-rebound the Lakers even with Andy getting hurt and Z fouling out. To be fair though they didn't have Bynum.

Speaking of Andy, time to focus on his injury now. :(

I have to give Larry mucho credit for this one despite the bad inbound pass. He read it right but Boobie fell. What made up for it was that he got right back on D and tipped Kobes shot. Excellent effort and huge win!

I might have to shift my blind hatred from Hughes to Drew Gooden now. Drew is starting to seem far more deserving of my wrath. He is Kwame's long lost cousin.

One of Larry Hughes' better stretches as a Cavalier. Why ? Because he's accepting his role offensively, and remaining Larry Hughes on defense ....if he continues playing like he's playing ...and can reamin happy in his role, he will give us what we need from him.

I'm as happy with Hughes over the past three/four games as I've been in his entire tenure here .... he's never put four games together like this his entore time here ...

But, then ...I've alweays felt Larry played Mike Brown style basketball outosde of one issue ....his (Larry's) perception of what his game should entail on the offensive side. He's stopped forcing himself into the offense and has begun taking what is there for him WITHIN the offense ....he cotinues in this fashion, he will find his place on this team, and the team will benefit greatly.

Now, DREW GOODEN is the biggest issue ....as you've all known ...I've never liked his game ...never will. He's not a player whose overall game contributes to WINNING. He is the definition of "hollow numbers"...

I'm convinced that it will never "click" with him. The good thing is that his "numbers" are good trade bait.

Very nice win. Cavs came up with some great defense in the 4th. I don't like Newble in the starting lineup but he deserves credit for coming up with some nice plays late in the game. Hughes also continuing to play well in recent games. It will be huge if he can maintain play around this level. That late inbounds play wasn't his fault. It was the right pass but Gibson fell or was pushed by Kobe.

LeBron came up huge and made some great plays but I don't like the way he played for a long stretch of the game, mainly in the 3rd quarter when he was too much of a selfish ballhog and was jacking up bad shots. When that happens the offense stops and teammates stand and watch. That pretty much went away in the 4th which was nice to see. He had a big game but has to avoid playing that way too often.

Varejao's injury just looked like a sprain but he might miss a few games.

.

This a main concern for me. It is the one area that I have not seen any kind of growth in his game. He picks and choses when to be aggressive and then hopes in the 4th he can make up for it. I would rather build up a head of steam in the 3rd and let the momentum build in the 4th. We are always having to claw our way back.

He's not even getting those anymore....1 point in the last 2 games.

here's to hoping other GM's ignore his recent descent into towel boy territory.

Just some thoughts about this game..

LeBron >> Kobe

(even the fans in LA have started to come around)

Max was correct, I was trying to urinate on Z..Thus the leak. :chuckles:

Anderson's injury happened right in front of me (well, I was 5 rows up) but nonetheless... He screamed as he was falling..:( I wanted to do something.. But had no answers..

Didn't get to throw in my own two cents since I wasn't near a PC for two days.

Great win, the team played well, especially with Varejao and Big Z having to leave early. Hughes showed up, and the defense was tremendously well on Kobe Bryant in the fourth quarter.
