This one has me scratching my head. Why would the Cavs get rid of two key rotation plays to get a guy that has been underperforming? AV is already a good defensive big, we're trying to get an offensive banger for cheap. We would be giving up too much to get him here.

YES! Still think we'd need another big body. Maybe Ferry could work some more magic with Presti for Wilcox, Collison, etc.

Shawn is a great perimeter defender. Add him and another big and we could be sitting PRETTY.

Marion DOES NOT fit at the 4 in our system. Don't worry, it's B.S. I would not want him at all.

Marion for Wally and filler, maybe young non rotation player or draft pick, but no way should AV be a part of this deal.

Marion is a free agent after this year. They don't want Wally for him.

i just can't buy this at all. i would think Ferry thinks of AV as a potential replacement for Z at Center in a few years, or at worst an ideal 3rd big man. Marion is not a PF and definitely not a center, there's just no way this happens.

however, the cavs do like haslem, as they were close to signing him a few years ago, I could see something where they get haslem if they think AV is going to be too pricey to resign.

probably ferry knows more than us for example there were talks with varejao's agent over the summer and perhaps he has the feelings that andy will ask for too much money. but if that deal goes down i'm sure there will be another trade or something (joe smith....) in what we get another solid bigman

The only thing that makes sense about this deal is AV spending a lot of time in Miami in the offseason and maybe he hss interest in playing with the Heat.

This deal sounds like nonsense to me...

The Cavs cannot acquire Joe Smith unless Joe Smith is bought out and decides to wait 30 days and then sign with us also.

i know but joe smith spoke with the thunder gm before the season and he said to him that he will probably trade him in february also joe asked for a trade because he wants to play for a contender so after he gets traded there is a good chance that he will ask for a buyout

Wally and Lorenzen for Marion works financially. Not sure if Miami would be interested in swapping expiring for expiring though.

Yes, but they get themselves a 'real' center, at least more then they have.

Still, this would be a fleecing of us, and for what...another expiring? No thanks.

I would not trade AV for Marion..no way..why weaken our frontcourt further?
Give them AV ?
