Game Preview:
by STATS LLC
Now that LeBron James is getting some support from his teammates, the Cleveland Cavaliers look to carry over their strong play at home to the road.

The Cavaliers hope to build off their most recent victory while trying to avoid a fourth consecutive road loss when they face the streaking Orlando Magic on Monday night.

James scored 33 points as Cleveland (38-29) held off Charlotte 98-91 on Sunday for its season-high seventh straight win at home. Though James -- the NBA's scoring leader at 30.9 points per game -- had another strong game, he was glad to share the spotlight.

Center Zydrunas Ilgauskas added 16 points and nine rebounds in his return after missing seven games with a lower back injury. Ben Wallace had 15 rebounds and also added a pair of late field goals to keep the Cavaliers ahead.

"It shows they can help this team if we put them in positions to score," said James, who also had 10 assists and seven rebounds.

With Ilgauskas apparently healthy, James and Cavaliers will boast a deeper lineup at Orlando (44-24), which has already clinched a playoff spot and is averaging 114.5 points during its current four-game winning streak.

The Cavaliers are fourth in the Eastern Conference and trying to nail down home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs. They are 5 1/2 games back of the third-place Magic, but 3 1/2 ahead of fifth-place Toronto in the conference.

Cleveland, which hasn't had a winning record away from home since 1995-96, has lost five of its last six on the road and is 16-19 overall. The Cavaliers, though, won 118-111 at Orlando on Feb. 11 in the teams' most recent meeting for their third win in five road games against the Magic.

On Sunday, Cleveland overcame a 42.7-percent shooting effort by recording 50 rebounds and holding the Bobcats scoreless in the final 1:08.

"At that point you need to get a stop," James said of his team's late defense. "You know down the stretch that if you can get one stop and a score, then the game can get out of reach. We were able to accomplish that."

James, who's averaging 35.3 points in his last nine contests, has totaled 68 points, 24 assists and 20 rebounds in two games versus Orlando this season. He had 39 points, 14 assists and 13 boards in Cleveland's 117-116 overtime home loss to the Magic on Nov. 14.

Orlando is coming off a 122-111 home win over Indiana on Saturday. Hedo Turkoglu had 27 points and Rashard Lewis added 22 for the Magic, who shot a season-high 63.6 percent and went 12-for-20 from 3-point range for their 12th victory in 15 games.

"I wouldn't say it was a great offensive night because we handled the ball very poorly," said Orlando coach Stan Van Gundy, who's team overcame 22 turnovers, including seven by All-Star Dwight Howard. "We were able to survive because we shot the ball so well."

Turkoglu had 25 points on 10-for-17 shooting against Cleveland last month.

Quick Facts:

· The Cavaliers have won 10 of the last 15 meetings against the Magic including a road win at Orlando earlier this season on Feb. 11 when Cleveland came away with a 118-111 win.

· Ben Wallace grabbed 15 rebounds (his high as a Cavalier) last night against Charlotte. He has now grabbed at least eight rebounds in seven of his 11 games as a Cavalier.

· Zydrunas Ilgauskas returned to the Cavaliers lineup last night against Charlotte after missing seven games with a back strain. He posted 16 points on 7-11 shooting and grabbed nine rebounds in 32 minutes.

· LeBron James posted 33 points, 10 assists and seven rebounds last night against Charlotte. He is now just 65 points shy of passing Brad Daugherty for the franchise record in points scored. Daugherty finished his Cavs career with 10,389 points.

· In eight games during the month of March, LeBron James has averaged 36.0 points, 7.9 rebounds and 7.0 assists per game. He has scored 33 or more points in six of the eight games. He has now scored 20 or more points in 44 straight games.

· Through 61 games this season, LeBron James has averaged 30.9 points, 8.1 rebounds and 7.5 assists per game. Oscar Robertson is the only player in NBA history to average at least those numbers in a season when he averaged 31.4 points, 9.9 rebounds and 11.0 assists per game in 1963-64.

CHIEF'S PREDICTION
Cavaliers - 101
Magic - 100
=============================================

Not a lot going for our Cavaliers tonight. Second night of a back-to-back, heading on the road against a solid Orlando team. And we looked pretty horrid on the road the last two times out (NJ and Washington). And on top of that, LBJ has logged HUGE minutes the last three games. But setting all that aside, I have a strange feeling we will come out very focused tonight. I think it will some down to the last couple possessions and I see us squeaking out a big road win. We'll need it with some more tough games coming up later this week.

And last, but certainly not least, the lovely Magic dancers:

Last night our bigs impressed me how they play....LBJ played awesome and we deserve that win...My only problem for now is how to put Wally inside of our rotation? He has energy,he is playing strong and he want to play and to get big games...Mike Brown surprised me when he took him out of the court in 4th qtr...He played good D(big block on Okafor) and make one good shoot...He put Pavlovic in and he played 2 bad defenses...I just hope that he will play at least 15 minutes tonight...Lets win this one!!!!!

I'll be at the game.

Full recap coming provided I don't get too drunk after the game.

those losses at Milwaukee, New Jersey, Chicago, and Washington don't have me feeling very confident going into this game. Hopefully they prove me wrong.

Don't got a good feeling about this game.. I'm not sure we can come out on top in this one to be honest. Orlando has been playing impressive basketball, and we are on the road. If we can slow down Dwight Howard, keep their shooters in check, should be a good game and likely a win.

Gonna be one hell of a game though, GO CAVS!

HoopsHype's Scouting Reports are laughable. I just looked through a few of them but...Rashard Lewis a good rebounder?? 5 Rebounds a game at the starting PF :chuckles: Oh and the LeBron more selfish

Btw how is Ben Wallace going to keep with Rashard on the perimeter??

beast... Probably the most phisically gifted player in the NBA

hate to nit pick, but he's the second most physically gifted player in the nba, behind our guy ;)

not sure if i agree with you here, it is a toss up between dwight howard and LBJ...ok dreaming here, but imagine howard coming here and playing with LBJ, oh one can dream :hail:

This was the last in a slew of 7 games that I thought we might be able to reel off for a win streak. Since the Cavs have come up short on my forecast I would have to think that this will be a hard fought and challenging game. This is also the type of game that could solidify the confidence of some of our new guys. A quality win over a possible playoff foe would be incredible.

This will be very hard game to win...But i think that this team must start winning big games and hope so that they will do that tonight...
