The fact that Boston fans of all people are talking about beating a team with backups (Patriots vs Nick Foles anyone) is hysterical.

So Fellas - help me out.

Tatum slaps the ball out of Jeff Green’s hands, and the ball goes out of bounds. The ref smacks his knee, indicating that that is what he thought he saw. Video provides conclusive evidence that that is not what he saw. The call is not overturned. Describe, to me, the process by which that happens.

Video replay is there to correct for human error. Video evidence clearly showed the ref made an error. The error was not corrected.

This was one of the things that happened that was total bullshit that makes the NBA look bad.

The other two ridiculous events that come to mind were:

1. End of the first half when Smart dives into LeBron’s legs and they don’t call a foul. Then JR gets called for a foul in the same situation early in the 3rd quarter.
2. Rozier decking LeBron on a cut - no call.

Anyway, the review of that call being “out on Jeff Green” is a joke. Why the fuck did the ref immediately assume it went off his leg? He’s assuming something he clearly didn’t see. Anyway, we have replay, so it’ll be fine, right? Nope. It’s almost the same thing when baseball reviews a stolen base call and the guy sliding beats the throw, but he comes off of the bag for a split second while the tag is applied, so he’s out. But this is worse. So even though Tatum hit the ball out of Jeff Green’s hand, the ball still caught a sliver of Jeff Green flesh right after the knockaway before going out. That’s the only explanation. Fuck that.

Exactly. And it scares the shit out of me.

With the historic postseason LBJ is having - I find it hard to believe two things at once. That the season could end prematurely Sunday and perhaps be robbed of the most improbable title runs in NBA history, or that LeBron will drag this team of losers to a game 7 win in a place no one has won a game yet this postseason.

Seriously, both outcomes seem unfathomable to me. But one of them must be true.

I was so annoyed at that SNL skit about the Cavs, but I’m not anymore. It really is LeBron vs the world, I’ve now accepted and embraced. Especially after watching Harden “aka fake MVP” - yet again shit down his leg in a big game and watch his team grow a set of balls and win a game against GS of all teams. The burden James has is unmatched in sport.

Win or lose this has been a real treat to watch the last 6 weeks. I’m not ready for it to end yet, even though in all honesty watching this cavs team as a whole gives me cancer of the eyeballs. LeBron deserves this game 7, and a fortuitous injury leading to an improbable title, more than any player in the history of this sport.

I side with destiny Sunday. We will return to the finals somehow someway.

It's been an absolutely crazy year. From the Kyrie debacle, to the trades to bring in Rose/Wade/IT/Crowder, then the trades to remove and replace all those guys. Lebron playing all 82 games, Love being more unavailable than available, JR falling of the edge of the earth, TT's death and rebirth... the list goes on and on.

Through it all, I have been entertained and with all the upheaval Lebron's magnificence has somehow made it all worthwhile for me.

Now we're hoping he can pull another rabbit out of his hat with this misfit roster and a head coach who benches key assets at all costs in favor of exhausting his favored veterans to the breaking point.

I'm looking forward to tonight's game with a little nervousness but also a sense of being at peace with the outcome no matter what happens.

Of course I'm hoping we win and go on to compete with whatever team comes out of the West. If it ends up being Houston I think we could have a shot to beat all odds and win another ring. Maybe we could even muck up a series against the GSW enough to get an upset. So above all I want to advance to fight for another series. If we come up short I'm still at peace knowing Lebron is giving it a superhuman effort and the deck has been stacked against us all along.

I'm totally at peace with whatever Lebron decides to do when this season is over. Of course I want to see him stay here, continue to build around him, and see him retire here hopefully with a few more rings. If he leaves then I know he has more than earned that right to do whatever he thinks is best for himself and his family. Hopefully it works out that what is best is for him to stay.

With that perspective of being okay with either outcome with the Cavs season and with Lebron's status, watching the rest of this playoffs will be pure entertainment for me whether it's one game or one game plus a finals series. As a fan I can't ask for more, thanks to the effort and talent Lebron has put forth.

We need a lot of improbable shit to happen tonight. It’s almost hard to imagine how it happens.

We need someone, who hasn’t done shit on the road, to get really hot. One of those JR shooting garbage shots and hitting 6/7 nights. We also need Hill to add like 18 and play great defense. We need Boston to miss a lot of shots. We need Thompson to be excellent against Horford, rebound well, and add like 14 points on dunks and little turnarounds.

What a nightmare for Lebron. Try to get them involved, and they suck like they have every game in Boston, and it’s 34-15 after the 1st. Take over from the tip and score 50 and the rest of those clowns will be standing around watching.

Damn sources were correct

They said the jameses (LBJ & Harden) we’re going to get no calls at the rim on the road

Didn’t believe it

But damn
Per NBA dot com, James Harden drove 21 times last night. He did not attempt ONE single free throw as a result of a drive to the basket

Sources were correct

The fix is in, lbj will get hacked no calls

It was a good run

I'm actually looking forward to watching them without Love. The defense will be significantly better, and we don't have to keep forcing the ball to a struggling player just to keep his head in the game.

The biggest thing is George Hill. 20 points last game and none of them were assisted by LeBron. He's shown this series that he can get his own in Cleveland, so he needs to in Boston. Korver has to be on, and I'm hoping Nance plays more minutes than Tristan.

Anything from JR seems like a bonus at this point, but if he accidentally hits a few 3s and Marcus Smart isn't hitting like in G5 I feel like we'll be fine.

Tune in tonight for vintage thuggishness and goonery from the Celtics, they're even advertising it. Of course Ty Lue is doing nothing to prepare the ground for getting any good calls tonight.

Yes exactly. The only thing you left out is that take over from the tip and LBJ will be dropping from exhaustion in the late third quarter.

If he tries to involve others and we fall behind, watch the game thread here feature "Lebron is giving up" and "Lebron is deliberately trying to lose the game" type takes.

LBJ never gets those calls... But as I've said for some time now, in the playoffs, in tight games, officials usually let the players "play on" .. which means the regular season norm of getting > .500 FTr from everywhere on the floor disappears. This is why James Harden, to me, isn't as valuable in the playoffs as he is in the regular season. Same reasoning went into the evaluation of other players that were bolstered by free throw attempts like regular season Isaiah Thomas.

If this was a veteren team, I think the Celtics would be haunted by this loss forever.............but they will be back.
