Cavs vs. Celtics (Tuesday 7PM, FSNHD/NBATVHD)

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Very nice win. It's more impressive since I don't think the Cavs were even quite at their best tonight. They got back into some bad old habits offensively that they had been avoiding.

I don't know what the hell the thinking was on that last possession in regulation. That was screwed up but it was nice to see the Cavs put it behind them quickly in OT.

Another big night from LeBron. His great play seems to be getting ignored too other than by Cavs fans.
Gooden came up huge in the 3rd and kept them in the game. Z and Sasha also with nice nights. Cavs have to start getting something from their bench. The starters badly need help and a little rest.

Garnett sure does a lot of talking for someone who had trouble leading his teams into the playoffs.

Great win by the Cavs. LeBron just shows why he is the best player in the league at the moment.

Huge win. Really not our best performance offensively. We looked like last year's Cavs, watching Lebron dribble out the shot clock. We were still able to score though and played good D.

I really wasn't all that impressed with Boston tonight. I think they have benifitted a bit from an easier schedule and won some close games. They are definitely a great team though. We may see a different team next time we face them (which, I believe, is very soon). You know those guys will be motivated with all the drama tonight.

Key play of the game for us was the Sasha corner 3... (and for them the Allen missed FT's)

And then Kevin Garnett asked "Why did I stop getting the ball?"

And Paul Pierce answered: "So I can leave my feet while jumping out of bounds behind the backboard"

And Ray Allen chimed in: "So I can hoist off balance threes"

And Rajon Rondo jumped in: So I can brick two shots.

So instead of winning, poor Kevin decided to badmouth LeBron, who DID get the ball and scored 8 OT points. What did Garnett say to LeBron?

"I'd spit on your bench if I could, but I'm out of my range"

LeBron responded: "Pierce missed a few years ago from a lot closer"

Long live the King.

Moo

Paper Champions. Once the league figures out that they are more hype then substance they won't be rolling over anyone.

Anytime you beat a team that is 11-1 it's a great win. Hopefully we can continue to roll against the Pistons tomorrow night

When do you think was the last time Garnett was held to 5 rebounds in 44 minutes? Z and Gooden dominated the boards tonight with 27...Z added 4 blocks and 5 assists too.

Great win.

Allen plays 49 minutes after being questionable with a rolled ankle. Doc Rivers is just asking for injuries if he keeps that up.

KG or Lebron for MVP? Is that a serious question?

I wondered who would step up and take games over for Boston. I've always questioned whether KG could do it. When he was matched up with Gooden late and was settling for fadeaway jumpers, my suspicions were heightened.

Allen is smooth, but I think you can force him into taking incredibly difficult jumpers if you hound him enough late. I guess that leaves it up to Pierce, and I'll take Lebron over Pierce all day every day.

This was the classic teaser game from Drew. He absolutely schools a defense giving up the lowest FG% in the L. It's maddening that he is so skilled, yet so hit or miss. His upside is only restrained by his IQ and bouts with laziness.

Mr. Excitement Sasha Pavlovic wows the crowd with breathtakingly bad turnovers followed by spectacularly clutch 3s and drives over KG. Just play within yourself Sasha. You have the tools to be a very good defender and a 15-18ppg scorer.

Gibson and the bench were MIA. Not sure how this one was pulled out with Lebron/Z/Drew/Sasha taking on the Celtics by themselves. My kingdom for a couple of reserves who aren't complete and utter liabilities the second they check in...

Very pleasant to put a little tarnish on the Boston juggernaut mystique. Get back to me when they play some more contenders and their big three logs 40 minutes a night for a few months.

I'm not ready to concede the East to another city just yet.
