Honest question here:

Can anyone tell me why when they want to call a timeout, they will bring it into the frontcourt and dribble around for a couple seconds? I understand bringing it into the front court, but why wait a few seconds? It's even cost us a turnover earlier this season when Hughes waited too long to call the timeout and the other team stole it from him.
