Victor Oladipo would have NEVER become the player he is right now while playing behind Kyrie and/or LeBron.Now I'm going to say this, because I thought of this when I heard that Gilbert wanted Oladipo and plenty in here did, including me.
It was said said because of all the guards the Cavs had , there wasn't a place for VO..Grant took Bennett, which we know was a horrible reach.
Even if Grant drafted VO , would he still be a Cav?
Think about how many players they have traded for whatever reason.
I doubt he would have lasted this long.
Not implying I wanted to trade him but with all the trades they make would they have been patient enough to keep him??
Sometimes players only become THE MAN when they are given the VERY RARE opportunity to be the #1 option on a team. Sometimes it has NOTHING to do with developmental strategy or coaching, but EVERYTHING to do with opportunity. Oladipo is only doing what he does now because he's the number 1 option--something that would have never happened here.
