Now I'm going to say this, because I thought of this when I heard that Gilbert wanted Oladipo and plenty in here did, including me.
It was said said because of all the guards the Cavs had , there wasn't a place for VO..Grant took Bennett, which we know was a horrible reach.
Even if Grant drafted VO , would he still be a Cav?
Think about how many players they have traded for whatever reason.
I doubt he would have lasted this long.
Not implying I wanted to trade him but with all the trades they make would they have been patient enough to keep him??
Victor Oladipo would have NEVER become the player he is right now while playing behind Kyrie and/or LeBron.

Sometimes players only become THE MAN when they are given the VERY RARE opportunity to be the #1 option on a team. Sometimes it has NOTHING to do with developmental strategy or coaching, but EVERYTHING to do with opportunity. Oladipo is only doing what he does now because he's the number 1 option--something that would have never happened here.

Be that as it may, I still don’t understand how you look at those two guys and decide that they are comparable basketball players, both worthy of top-five picks.

I mean, I want to see the brain of that guy. There’s got to be something seriously wrong with it, like a tumor, or stroke, or sclerosis, or shearing of axons, or plaques and tangles, or general atrophy, or SOMETHING major. I guarantee you - that is not a normal brain.

I've always felt Mike Brown was the one who wanted Bennett the most. The way he talked about him in the presser and how he said he had watched him in his year off from coaching. It was similar to how Byron Scott talked about Dion Waiters and how he popped out on tape to him.

One reason I thought Oladipo should have been on this team was for his defense. He loved to play defense in college and it was something this team needed. I thought we could have run 3 guard sets at times and there were enough minutes to spread to Him, Kyrie, and Dion.

If we had Oladipo though would Delly have gotten a summer league and camp invite?

I can't believe the Cavs actually won this. LOL.
But it doesn't instill confidence that this team will be LeBron's much longer. He's still doing too much.
