ChicagoSun Times :Bulls interested in Parker/Gibson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Well, there's certainly some value in having vets who can teach young guys how to play the "right" way, practice hard, show what a leader is like, etc. That stuff matters, and if young guys don't have a good example to learn from, it might be a bad thing. I mean, do you really want to trade AP's personality for Davis'?

I'm just shocked Chicago didn't make a deal. I'd be pissed as hell if I was a Bulls fan, because the door this year is wide-open.

Is the extra month and half going to matter that much? He won't be back next year.

During the offseason, would you guys trade Boobie plus the 2013 Miami first round pick to Chicago for Bogans and the 2012 first round protected Charlotte pick? Note: the Boobie + pick would be my max deal. I'd start with just Boobie for Bogans and the CHA pick.

Gibson for Bogans works straight up right now because of the cap space that Chicago has. If I remember correctly, Bogans' deal next year is only partially guaranteed. I just think that if we get the #1 pick this year, Kyrie Irving declares, and we subsequently select him I think Boobie is going to be the odd man out. We'd have a guard rotation of: Baron Davis, Kyrie Irving, Christian Eyenga, and Manny Harris (who we better keep) in addition to Gibson.

Chicago has reported interest in him. He would give them a back-up ball handler for Rose. He also would give Chicago another lethal 3-point shooter. He only has this year and next left on his deal. He has a team option on 2012-13, which could make him an expiring for Chicago after next season if it doesn't work out and/or the owner worries about the luxury tax when it comes to signing Rose to a long term deal.

Here's a possible 10-man rotation:

PG: Derrick Rose/CJ Watson
SG: Ronnie Brewer/Daniel Gibson
SF: Luol Deng/Kyle Korver
PF: Carlos Boozer/Taj Gibson
C: Joakim Noah/Omer Asik

You could start Korver at the 2-guard and have Brewer back-up Luol Deng at the 3. This provides Chicago with a potent 3-point shooter starting (Korver) and coming off the bench (Gibson). My point is that this 10-man rotation is pretty flexible at the 1-3 positions.

That's not too bad of an idea. More on the realistic side which is always nice.

How protected is that Charlotte '12 1st rounder? And don't forget that Sessions will be in our guard rotation
