Cleveland Browns 2022 Regular Season

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Am I trippin or did this same coaching staff have the exact same demeanor during the playoff season? Remember how people praised them? Then last season with all of the Baker drama they had the same exact approach.

Why are there people who are advocating for them to act out just for the sake of it?
DeShaun Watson that and I think most of the Cleveland Media are dumb as rocks, Grossi, Ruiter, Rizzo etc. The coaching staff and front office are smart people and they don't like that. Rizzo wants Stefanski chewing players out on the sidelines lol lol lol...
You don't find MKC bashing Stef, Berry and Depo etc. All of her interviews, articles or pods have been relatively pro this office.

And not surprisingly she gets shit on the most during the Baker era. It's clear to anyone paying attention that MKC is probably the most plugged in reporter with ownership. Charles Robinson with the FO and AB. The most accurate reporting on the team during this regime has come from them.

The way I'm reading this Clowney situation is like this. MKC got Clowney to dig his own grave and the team is not going to come out and publicly pile on with some of the media driven responses. KS isn't going to make a rah rah speech. AB isn't going to do a press conference (the end of season one is coming up soon anyway). The Haslams aren't going to make a statement. The team has already handled the situation as far as I'm concerned. They clearly knew how he was feeling in the first place which is why MKC is able to even get that kind of response from him.

team knows the situation, they let the player air out his shit while both sides know that the end is near.

But the media wants the team and more specifically KS to come out and publicly double down. Seems like the team was already tracking on the situation.

I don't even know what Delpit was disciplined for but the fact that both he and Winfrey have been solid since then is a testament to both the players and the coaching staff for seemingly getting through to them. Myles, despite his discipline has also played at an ALL Pro level and went out and performed. Now Winfrey is a rookie and Delpit is in his third season but Jadeveon Clowney is about to enter his 10th season and is a former #1 overall pick and he had the worst response out of all of them to his discilpline.

Team really lacks culture and leadership. All my life.

Hopefully we see that trend slowly but surely go up with Watson at the helm.

I do give credit to Mary Kay on this one.

In the past decade or so, I've been irritated that she is a muck-raker. She would chomp at the bit to start burying the starting quarterback and build support for the backup. I felt she would do this to generate clicks. I'm sorry, but creating artificial tension in the locker room for clicks isn't good reporting. It's desperate fundraising for a broke-ass media conglomerate.

Here, Mary Kay spent time pumping up Clowney as an asset first. If you check out the Orange and Brown report from Monday, you will hear her talk about why the Browns should make every effort to keep Clowney.

Using that stance as a public platform first, her interview with Clowney doesn't seem to be muck-raking to me. Clowney didn't follow negative leading questions, he took what could have been a positive article and dug his own grave.

Well done Mary Kay, I will stop claiming you care more about gardening than covering the Browns well.

He might be the biggest loser in the NFL.

Par for the course for this guy. Shame on the Browns for keeping this locker room cancer around for as long as they have.

He's done this on his way out everywhere he's been.

It's everyone's fault except his own.
Very true. It’s the same narrative with every team he’s been with. He’s also grossly underperformed. The ability is there and I’d like the guy to stay but if he isn’t going to own this and claim it was a stupid thing to say that came from the anger of losing, I want him gone.

Just curious--what ability?

He's big, strong and fast but he lacks the flexibility and agility to succeed pass rushing around the edge in the NFL. He doesn't use his hands well. He doesn't have an exceptional motor.

If you want someone who can set the edge, contain the run, and not do much with incredible opportunities on third down, you can get that at significantly cheaper.

Not sure where to put this but Joe Thomas is down to the final 15 in his first year eligible for the Hall of Fame. Personally I can't see him not being a first ballot guy but thought it was worth mentioning. Joe Thomas, Darrelle Revis, and Dwight Freeney are the three new players eligible this year.

List of the 15 finalists:
Joe Thomas - OT
Darrelle Revis - CB
Willie Anderson - OT
Torry Holt - WR
Reggie Wayne - WR
Andre Johnson - WR
Jared Allen - DE
DeMarcus Ware - LF
Dwight Freeney - DE
Albert Lewis - CB
Ronde Barber - DB
Devin Hester - PR/KR
Zach Thomas - LB
Patrick Willis - LB
Darren Woodson - S
Willie Anderson was a hell of an OT too.
