Cleveland Browns Quarterback Position

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Is this where some jerk is supposed to bring up Mike Glennon again??? :chuckle:

Mike Glennon!

I'm not going to lie, I wouldn't mind having Mike Glennon on this team.

As a #2

Top 10 is SERIOUSLY pushing it.

If you make a list, you will find he's not in there. Top 15 is about right though. He's probably in the top half of the league, right in there with Jameis, Flacco and Dalton. That tier of guy. Just because of his legs.

I'd be on board with this move, if only because he's literally an average or so QB and the Browns don't even have that.

I 100% agree top 10 is pushing it. With decent amount of improvement to 10. He has started for 2 years, not out of the question, and I do agree with your assessment.

I think you throw big money on a 2 year guaranteed contract for him and doesn't stop you form drafting a guy if you like him and they fall.

So basically we're content with becoming the Bills/Bengals/Texans. Cusp playoff team, no chance of winning anything.

Fuck that. I want to find a franchise guy.

If the alternative to this is taking a one-year college starter who couldn't beat out Marquise Williams just two years ago in the Top 12, it sounds pretty good.

With a dearth of game-ready quarterback talent, the value of Tyrod Taylor is pretty reasonable.

throw good money at Tyrod...I mean we have like 70 million in cap...plus we need to take a step forward this year anyway

2014:

Bengals: 10-5-1
Bills: 9-7
Texans: 9-7

2015:

Bengals: 12-4
Bills: 8-8
Texans: 9-7

I will take that all day without thinking about it. We are not making the SB in 2 years. But being a cusp playoff team within 2 years? Why the hell not? Am I saying adding Tyrod will push us to that NEXT year? Of course not. But adding a proven QB in Tyrod, another FA piece and adding all talented youth in draft, even 1 QB (not in 1st), then we are on our way.

One of the top 3 QB's in this draft can end up being a franchise QB. We literally have no fucking clue. No one on this board was drooling over Dak and looked how that turned out. But odds are, the QB's in next years class will have a better chance. So why not get a serviceable QB that isn't ancient, frail, or runs out of the back of endzones, for 2 years, and let our QB this year sit for 2, or our QB next year sit for 1+.

Tyrod in no way regresses us. Throw a shit ton of money at Romo? That would be idiotic.

yeah Zegura makes me think were targeting Jimmy G....just find a quarterback who gets rid of the ball

Not sure why people dislike Taylor. He'd be very effective here, I'd love to see it happen personally.

I'd put signing Taylor at a clear option #2 behind a trade for Jimmy G. The Browns have the picks to make that trade viable without giving up the future. Garoppolo has been spending a few years in the new QBU - Josh McDaniels system. Tyrod has spent two years in another John Carroll University product's system - Greg Roman. Roman is a simplified play action system that encourages the QB to run after reads fall apart. McDaniels runs a system that encourages staying in the pocket with multiple reads per play. The cost will undoubtedly be the main factor, but Garoppolo is the real prize here.

I'd offer our 2nd 2nd round pick, a 4th this year and a third in 2018 for JG. Bill would have a hard time turning that down.

I do prefer Jimmy, but prefer the cost of Tyrod.

Im happy if they get either.
