Cleveland Cavaliers @ New Orleans/Oklahoma City Hornets

Yes, hard to win NO/OK, but they were missing 2 of their best players. They started the season strong but have dropped. If this team's about making the Finals, this was embarassing.

They have been missing them for some time now and have adjusted. They have the talent. Seems sort of arrogant to say that the Hornets are the far below us that a 5 point loss is in their house is embarassing.

Another winnable game pissed away. Hornets coming off a west coast trip and playing without Peja, D. West and B. Jackson (3 of their top 7 players) and the Cavs still can't get the win.

If Mike Brown had any balls he should have benched LeBron for his pathetic effort tonight. His boxscore doesn't look that bad but his play was poor. LeBron rarely attacked the basket tonight and jacked up too many off balance deep jumpers.
When is someone in the Cavs organization going to get on LeBron for his half ass effort on defense? If you want to be a leader and a championship caliber superstar than you have to at least give some effort at that end. Other than a few plays he stood around all night.
The guy is an incredible talent but he's taken a step back this year.

Cavs usual old problems cost them the game tonight. Settling for perimeter shots, lack of movement offensively and poor defensive rotations.

Gibson did the best of all the Cavs G's who tried to defend Paul tonight.

Pretty good games from Z and Varejao. Although why bother going inside to these 2 who are doing well when you can jack up a 3 instead?

Blah, too much overreacting going on...no real discussion happening.

I think LeBron is taking it easy on purpose so he can turn it ON in the Playoffs.

Thats a bull shit excuse, stop being ignorant and face reality bud, leBron (the chosen one) is under-achieving. How bout you pull your head out of your ass and face the facts...

Its funny to see the effect the boards can have on people. I watched the game away from the boards and while not thrilled with the Cavs played, I wasn't embarrassed by the loss, but people on here are wailing and knashing teeth.

This loss is not that suprising. They were hitting contested 16-20 jumpers. We played sloppy at times, but geez, the give the Hornets credit. They played nice D denying penetration. Not embarassing, just disappointing.
Sorry, Rimage... I agree with alot of your thoughts, but I can't subscribe to this line of thinking..

Good teams, championship caliber teams don't let games like this happen.. They execute down the stretch, they recognize "winning time" and understand that means getting to the bucket and ultimately the line.. It's one thing to have a game or two like this, but this is becoming a reoccurring theme with this team..

It's not the fact that they lost, it's the effort they gave for the lost..

Just like I said on the 2nd page of this thread, I refer to one of my favorite quotes from Chuck Daly.

If we lose this game, that will be pretty damn pathetic... Cavs have two solid wins in a row, they're fully rested, and are the overall better team...

No reason we should lose this game...

However, I'll always remember this quote from one of my favorite coaches- Mr. Chuck Daly:

"Some clubs and when I say some clubs I mean true championship contending clubs, know they can reach that level virtually every night.. On the road, at home, it doesn't matter.. Where as the other clubs don't seem to know when it comes and when it goes, some nights they can reach that level, and other nights they can't"

Sounds like the Cavs to me
..

Uh, before tonight, they'd lost 7 of their last 8 games.

I don't think there's too much overreacting going on. Most of us are tired of seeing the same problems over and over. There comes a point where things should be corrected.

Don't pretend to be a championship team when you continue to give less than full effort in many games and continue to lose winnable games again and again.

LeBron is a great player and I'm thankful the Cavs have him but his play and effort have slacked off too often so far this season.

Well, you can doubt it, but you don't know. So calling him out seems like a criticism overkill.

How many times have we seen him cry wolf this year? It's getting tired. I've rewatched that play 5 times now, I have no idea what he could have possibly injured on that play. Remember the game earlier this year where he layed motionless like he was uncontious? Windhorst called him out on it. I rewatched that play 50 times and his head never got hit...NOTHING! Yet he layed motionless for minutes, giving everyone a heart attack.
The problem I have with the play tonight was he sat there and bitched for 10 seconds and then started wincing for another minute, while Chandler was rolling around. Meanwhile NOK TOOK THE LEAD FOR GOOD during a 4 on 4 possession. That was a big play, the fans were pumped, the chosen one was allegedly injured and complaining to the refs...they stole the momentum and the game. If he had gotten back I highly doubt they score on us there and the fans aren't nearly as pumped. Suck it up, thought he used to play football.

LeBron for AI ?

of course i'm jk but dude better get his act together or theres going to be some bows thrown...

If no one criticizes him now, when he's 21, he's going to have the same bad habits when he's 28.

.

I think that was big bad Brevin Knight that knocked him down that time. Maybe he was watching too much World Cup soccer over the Summer; Get the stretcher ready and whatever that spray was on the sideline that magically healed in only seconds..

I dont understand why accepting these types of losses is ok

its not just tonight....if it was just tongith it would be fine...I could understadn

Hawks...Raps...Bobcats...Hornets...Pacers...

all games we had no business losing

This team as a whole, from top to bottom lacks heart. Its an embarrassment that a team this talented plays as lifeless as it does. Thats the coaches fault, followed really closely by team leadership.

I forgot about the Knicks too....whoooo what a great team

Personally I can handle getting beaten by a team who was hot. New Orleans was on fire, however with many of their guns out, we wereable to stick with them and seemingly have some control heading into the 4th. Thats when our execution went down the drain, and Paul showed what you do when the game is tight. Attack!
