Didn't do shit after one amazing 2007 season. He could've told management do whatever it takes by any means because we are very close. The David Dellucci type signings ate me alive too.Why don’t you like the Dolans? Can’t be because of having one of the best front offices/manager combos in the league. And the best front office in Cleveland.
"I don't want one World Series for the city of Cleveland," Dolan told reporters in Cleveland. "I want a string of them." He's in the wrong sport to want championships but not buy them.
Last year's payroll probably set a record in his check books, times are changing in the world of sports, money keeps getting higher. Now he's chopping it, but I can't blame him because fan support didn't change much.
There was also some quotes on pitching when he bought the team. Those same quotes were brought up when he traded 2 Cy Young's because he couldn't retain them. The best thing the Dolans did was bringing in Tito. The Indians had bad scouting/drafting for a good time too so let's not be fooled. They've been great recently as Lindor though, let's remember they did clean house in that department.
More bad things will come when Lindor walks too. This franchise and ownership is one big wash, rinse, repeat cycle. The life of baseball.
Blame the market, blame the fans, but you damn sure can blame ownership too.
I'll forever appreciate the Dolan's for hiring Tito though, it really did change the landscape of our organization. We was a joke prior to that.
