Pretty sure that Donald was only hitting second because Kipnis was on the lineup card, so when he became a late scratch they had to hit whoever they played for him in that spot.

If the Tigers lose game 1, they will probably start Verlander in game 3. They might even change the rotation regardless. He'll be on regular rest.

I think there could be a silver lining here if Acta gives Valbuena some playing time. I just want to see them give him one last shot- the guy has destroyed AAA pitching not just this year, but in his career. I would just hate to see a 25 year old infielder with that kind of pop get waived and end up busting out somewhere else. He struggled earlier this year, but Acta also played games with him, like having him try and learn to play the OF at the bigleague level.
