Cleveland Indians @ Texas Rangers - August 5th, 6th, 7th

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Meh, nobody really takes your complaints that seriously...hence the smartass comments.

At this point, you're just disagreeing with everything he does because of irrational hatred for the guy.

Obviously Smith was done...but Tomlin was cool despite letting the first two reach, being at 95 pitches with the top of the order coming up in a two run game?

Nobody takes that kind of hypocrisy seriously....Quite frankly I just find myself laughing at it most of the time.

And fans aren't all the same, some of them are irrational and somewhat unstable.

I'm done with the game discussion thread. No more. You successfully ran me out. Kudos to you. I hope you feel good. I can't believe this stuff is allowed frankly.

See ya.

Serious Question: What would the reaction here have been had Smith (1.84 ERA) with Chad Durbin (6.28 ERA) and Durbin has blown the lead?

Where's Pestano? He's the guy with the best K rate and you neeeded some strikeouts in that situation.

It's getting a little too personal in here. We're all frustrated - the Indians could have been 7-0 on this road trip and came home 3-4. That stinks. We can argue until we're blue in the face who deserves fault, but the real answer is a little bit goes to everybody. The manager gets credit when the team wins, so the manager gets blame when the team loses...that's to be expected. This was a rough road trip for the bullpen - what is normally the strength of this team was its weakness over the past week. There were defense miscues, missed opportunities, and straight up head scratchers.

With that said, they went 3-4 on the road against two teams that are in 1st place and have a combined 133-94 record (.586 win percentage). Those teams are also the two best home teams in the American League this season, with a combined 73-44 (.624 win percentage) at home this year.

50 games remain. 12 of them are against the Tigers, starting with 3 at home this week.

Wins are sweeter, losses sting even more...this is what they call a "Pennant Race" Tribe fans:)

Now, to borrow an old catchphrase...can't we all just get along???

GO TRIBE!

Perez unavailable, Pestano was the closer tonight.

Perez wasn't available, making Pestano the closer for the night. He wasn't coming in the game in the 8th.

Nobody who is flying off the handle tonight can answer this question.

Instead, they're taking things a bit too personally.

I can't really blame anyone for flying off the handle. This loss was pretty mind numbingly frustrating, and there have been 3-4 games like this in the last week or two.

Yeah, wouldn't want to put the guy best suited to get the job done into the game. I don't mind Perez as the closer because he's only the 4th or 5th best reliever on the team, but all hands should have been on deck for the 8th. Worry about the 9th if and when you get there.

Thats the thing though, no one was questioning going to Smith. Going to Smith was the right move. However, when Smith looked terrible it was time to pull him, before he blew it. Thats the point that is being ignored here, and is being turned into an argument that was never being made.

Yes, Pestano was being saved for a save opportunity, but a lot of good that did us. Could Vinnie have gone 2 innings? He was off yesterday and will have tomorrow off, he probably could have. Herrman came in on Saturday and mowed 3 guys down, he could have pitched, or yes we could have gone to Durbin, who has been either very good or very bad. Seeing how Smith looked I wanted Acta to take a chance and go with another guy who might have had his stuff today.

Yes, in the heat of the moment it was an irate "Acta sucks!" outburst, but that's how fan's react when they think their manager made the wrong move. Im not going to blindly support a move that I dont view as the right one. Thats the beauty of this country, we can have differing viewpoints and state them and it doesnt make us "crazy".

Everyone likes to put their spin of 3-4 but how can you expect this team to make the playoffs when they haven't won a series in a MONTH.

Because for how bad they've been - they're only 4 games out with 40-50 games left and 12 coming against that one team. I'm not spinning 3-4, but the playoffs aren't even close to out of reach.

They'll go 3-9 or 4-8 against the Tigers, starting with being swept in this upcoming series. I'd assume we can stick a fork in them once they're 7 games out, but I'm sure some will continue to torture themselves.

Just when it feels like the darkness is settling in, you shine that small ray of light on this team that just makes me wonder...What If?

Classic Jig subconscience attempt at a reverse jinx. Perfect timing, I might add.
