I would like to talk about Sexton. I was in Vegas at summer league and during time outs and when on the bench, Sexton was always talking to the coaches and players (like Cedi) about different aspects of the game. Not only was his play outstanding, but his attitude and desire to learn was clearly evident.

He seems to me to be a very special young man with stardom ahead of him. He reminds me of Terrell Brandon. Really happy he is with us.

All the descriptions of Sexton mention this that he is constantly trying to get input on his game. That is really nice. I imagine it will be a major benefit as long as he talks to the right people.

I'll go find some bleach...
Bleaching this thread would make it whiter, and apparently, by definition smarter.:detective:

But if the conversation is on the idea of BBIQ and Sexton? From watching Sexton play even a little it seems his BBIQ is off the charts for a player with so little experience. Let's hope he stays hungry for becoming the smartest player he can be. He certainly seems to have everything it takes between the ears judging by the head games he plays on opponents, the way he seems to dominate his opponent psychologically. I don't have a lot of faith in Lue but if Lue is actually a person who knows shit about playing guard in the NBA, Sexton will be a sponge.

Me too.
And I hope he is like TB. TB was my favorite Cav of the era at the tail end and post-Richfield Gods for the longest, even until like year 2 of LeBron.
Part of the reason I was so high on Kyrie was because of TB, and so will be Sexton.

you don't come off the bench behind Mark "3 God, CPA" Price and light it up consistently thereafter w/o shooting up the ranks for me

Hope he develops his finishing abilities so he could be AI lite (in terms of attacking the basket) but with gritty defense and team player mentality... seems to have the right attitude, just hope it stays that way... even if he doesn't develop to a superstar, its fun to root for a guy who tries his best and full effort on the court at least

Even in the summer league he had that bulldog mentality. When the game got close was when he was the best and he didn't shy away from it. You have to love that. I think at worst he ends up as that scrappy type of player maybe like Jrue Holladay or Conley in that he is a competitor and is going to try to win no matter what and is going to put forth effort all the time. Not comparing skills, just the fight for it all the time those guys have.

He’s a tireless worker. Strong minded and extremely competitive. Strong self-will and perseverance.

He believes he can do anything.

I hadn't thought of Mike Conley as a comparison for Sexton, but now that you mention it, they have some physical similarities. I'd love it if Collin could turn into that type of player.

Me too. I think it is reasonable. Let's hope he doesn't have the injury problems. I think he will at least be this fringe allstar defensive pg who can always get to the basket at the very least.

I agree that Conley is an optimistic yet realistic hope for Sexton. I'm not a fan of the Westbrook comparison. Collin doesn't have his size and isn't quite the athletic freak. I'd much prefer a Conley to a smaller and less athletic Westbrook. Collin already seems like more of a team guy.
