So I’ve really been getting into different colognes lately…. All price ranges— between several hundred dollars to $30-$40 dollar fragrances…Haven’t really gotten into any exclusive, thousand dollar ones and doubt I will…

In terms of the higher end thus far I’m really liking the following:

Creed
Green Irish Tweed

Creed
Aventus

Christian Dior
Fahrenheit

Of the rest, I really like these as well. All are versatile

Giorgio Armani
Armani Code

Dolche & Gabbana
The One Eau De Parfum (not the Eau de toilette version)

Gianni Versace
Versache Eros

Issey Miyake
L’Eau D’issey Pour Homme

Mout Blanc
Legend Spirit

Nautica
Nautica Voyage

Viktor & Rolk
Spicebomb

Who's got time for all those scents? Being married, I might spray one of my bottles from the early 2000s maybe once or twice a year.

What's the shelf life on this shit?

Well I’ve been using these over a 3-4 year span…There’s been plenty of others but I’ve narrowed it down….

If I had to just roll with 2 going forward it would be

Creed
Green Irish Tweed

Dolche & Gabbana
The One

Teddy knows his stuff.

I am not really a Creed man. But I loves me some Bahama Water for the summer.

I have a Big Three for scents:

S.T. Dupont

My go to the past decade has been Cartier and S.T. Dupont. Cartier Roadster sport is a favorite base scent. But, if you want to wear a damn fine scent that no one else is wearing, then S.T. Dupont is the way to go.

S.T. Dupont is also a purveyor of fine leathers, pens and the definitive lighter (I have the platinum Napoleon lighter). S.T. Dupont is Bond's personal choice for many things. They have the fine tools for any gentleman.*

In particular, S.T. Dupont 58 Avenue has been my bread and butter since I came home from Afghanistan. It is also, evidently, liked by Prince William.

It is a fine base, over which a single spritz of something more aggressive may be used.

Most importantly, I have received innumerable compliments from women on it. They LOVE this scent.

I am also a great fan of their Essence Pure. It is marvelous and unique. Their summer derivations are great as well for warm weather.

House of Kurkdjian

I did a weeks long search for something new this past spring and came across House Kurkdjian. Have heard of the designer, but was not aware he had his own brand. It is super high grade, right there with Creed and Tom Ford. Pluriel is my winter night fragrance.

Again, it is not as well known, and is a newcomer in that high end niche.

Bottles run in the $300-$500 range.

Again, it will be something unique.

Tom Ford

Finally, I have bought some Tom Ford for milder scents. Their amber, leather and rose scents are quite nice.

As part of my extensive search this spring, I camped myself in front of the Tom Ford section at Neiman Marcus and smelled them all.

There are a number of good choices and it is hard to go wrong with their more overt masculine scents.

This is a fine selection for the high end groups.

Rose de Russe is a great casual scent.

*S.T. Dupont lighters are the best.

The ping is when you know you have the finest lighter. True accessories for the gentleman.

They are not cheap, but they will last you a lifetime and are the mark of a man with a knowledge of the finer things in life and unimpeachable taste.

My personal dress lighter:

The basic lacquer de chine lighters are gorgeous:

Very sensitive to smells. I am like a dog who has a bath and runs outside to roll in something dead

I was gifted Banana Republic Vintage Green 78 for Christmas at a workplace gift exchange. It's still unopened because fuck you to the person who bought it. Seriously, that's a boyfriend gift, not a friend gift. My wife rightfully wondered WTF with that one.

I tried it because of this thread... and I think I'm going to be using it this summer. Nice and light when I'm sweating and stinky.

So I’m no longer really a club guy…. I’ll be 40 in less than 3 months….I’ll go in a social setting but otherwise my club RCF days are over…. (Man I used to come home or in the morning & post on here in like 2007 fresh from the club with 90 minutes of sleep at 6:45am)

Anywho…. I’m into scents now that I can rock at dinner, social gatherings, office settings tho I rarely have to be in one now — so that’s what I’m looking for….

Im being sent Acqua Di Parma from Colonia Club and I can’t wait… Apparently a fantastic scent for meetings, an office setting without being over powering and offensive….

Notes include the following: lavender, rosemary, Sicilian citrus, Bulgarian rose, jasmine, amber and light musk….

The two I get the most compliments on by far have been Jimmy Choo Man and YSL La Nuit De L'Homme.

I still don't understand what the big deal is about Creed.
