I started the season 1-3 (mainly because I had the most points scored against me in the entire league) and seemed like it was looking to get worse due to injuries and players not playing up to their billing. So last week I completely overhauled my team.

It is a 12 Team League and we start 1 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, 1 TE, 1 K, 1 DEF.

What do you think of my new team compared to the old...I know that the QB position really declined.

OLD Team
Brees
Britt, M. Williams (Tampa), Massaquoi, Kevin Walter
Mendenhall, Bradshaw, Beanie Wells, Tate, Hightower
Olsen, Witten
Hanson
NY Jets

NEW Team
Hasselbeck, Alex Smith
Nate Washington, Jordy Nelson, Heyward-Bay, Sidney Rice
Chris Johnson, LeSean McCoy, Tate, Hightower
Hernandez
Hanson
NY Jets

QB- Hasselbeck has been fairly decent except for last week and Smith is playing quite well but the loss of Josh Morgan might hurt. Obviously, you declined here because you lost Brees, but Hasselbeck and Smith have been playing quite well

RB- Mendenhall has been a disappointment and hamstring injuries can linger so moving him = good. Tate is obsolete with Foster back and Hightower is going to be splitting carries with Torain. Beanie and Bradshaw are solid though and losing them hurts. In my opinion, the acquisitions of Chris Johnson and LeSean McCoy at the expense of Beanie, Bradshaw, and Mendenhall did improve your RBs.

WR- Your WRs have definitely improved (Britt is out for the season, Williams has been disappointing, and MoMass/Walters are nothing special). Washington should put up average numbers. I love Jordy Nelson. Technically he is 3rd on the depth chart (with Donald Driver in front of him), but Driver is irrelevant now and Jordy has the best QB in the league throwing to him. DHB has had 2 solid outings in a row and is getting it done by doing more than just running go-routes. Corners are going to have to start anticipating him running other routes which will only make it easier for him to get open deep. Rice has tremendous talent, but T-Jax/Charlie Whitehurst are garbage so I could only see Rice being a viable fantasy starter if the seahawks are playing a team with mediocre/crappy pass defense.

TE- Hernandez benefits from having Tom Brady throwing to him and Hernandez is a tough matchup for opposing defenses because of his size and speed (Hernandez is arguably the Pats best deep threat). A negative that comes with Hernandez is that Brady does a good job of distributing the ball which can be a huge headache for fantasy owners. When the Patriots get into the red zone, Gronkowski is 6'6" and may get more looks than Hernandez. Olsen and Witten have been fairly solid, but I think that Hernandez has a higher ceiling.

Losing Brees hurts, but if Hasselbeck can keep putting up numbers like he was prior to the Steelers game; you definitely improved your team a lot.

You have absolutely no depth, and I do not like your WR corps one bit (a few hit or misses [although big hits]). Tate & Hightower are in danger of falling out of the rotation (moreso Tate). You need to hope that Hernandez (big target) stays healthy...if he does, he will be a big play for you. Hasselbeck & Smith should be decent plays down the line. However, I just don't see enough on your team to win the league.

Good Luck! :)

- QB
+ WR (barely)
++++ RB (yes, in a 12 team league not having too much depth is fine because your 2 starting RB's are fine)
-/+ TE

I would say your team is slightly better, but nothing to blow your load in your hand over.

Not really worried about depth, and don't forget this is a 12 team league. I just want a solid Team of starters. I had the 9th pick out of 12 teams in the draft. I expected to have a shitty team. Johnson is turning it around, and along with McCoy I think I throw two very good starting RB s out in my league. Also, people don't really think about Defenses as doing much in Fantasy, most people say fuck it and draft one in the last round, but when you have a Defense like the Jets and they are about to score you 15-25 fantasy points a week it is very helpful.

I am being offered Alex Smith + Heyward-Bey for Romo.... Yes or No?

Who would you backfill DHB's roster spot with?

Wouldn't do it but don't know who your other QB is (if you have one) and if you really need DHB or not.

My other QB is Hasselback. Offer is still on the table. I picked up Sanzenbacher and played him last week and he got me a TD. I only start 3 WR;s. Not sure what DHB stock is like now that Campbell is out for the year?

Kinda sucks you just got rid of Mendenhall since he just got me 20 points...

Otherwise I say you improved. Brees has honestly not been his usual self the past few weeks. For him, 20ish points is nothing special.

I got LeSean McCoy in the Mendenhall trade. I will take McCoy over him any day.
