It is my pleasure to announce that our friend @Jordan has successfully defended his thesis this afternoon, which he so graciously invited me to witness, and will have conferred upon him a well-earned and august Philosophy Doctorate.

What were you guys interested in as kids? Like how does one come to be a physicist?

And what will you do with your degree? As in, what’s the future of physics for humanity?

Space and then math for me. I wanted to be an astronaut but that requires way more hand eye coordination than I have. Then, it was some combo of math/physics through out school and here we are.

I'm going to continue doing research. I work in medical imaging so a lot of it is clinical work. CT, MRI etc. A lot of what I do can hopefully improve medical treatment for various things.
