Danny Green: Long Time, No See

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Back in the day, yes. Now, no.

I have been in this place probably 150 times and I am not a Mexican.

IF you guys want me to collectively leave just give me a thumbs up under this post.

I think five people should do it.
No. You are a treasure and need to stay. I appreciate you for being you. Keep your head up, King.

Thanks, man. I am not here to cause trouble. I tend to be opinionated and have no problem standing my ground. I will try not to step on toes in the future if I am allowed to stay.

And clean up the grammar.

Alright fellas.

This guy is posting like the man we knew he could be now.

Next person to give him shit gets Windlered.

The argument isn't should the Cavs be a tax team or not. They would have absolutely become a tax team if they found a way to upgrade the roster significantly that fell into their laps. We were literally told that.

The argument is there was not a single player or trade worth going into the tax and starting our tax clock for next year who was made available this deadline. And I really fail to see how anyone could argue for the other side. If you think any of the depth wings with years remaining on their deals that were moved this deadline are the difference between the Cavs as an early exit and the Cavs as a Finals contender, I question your evaluation of talent.

Technically one wing who was traded makes us favorites, but Durant wasnt a tax question as we didnt have what it took.

And yes, i am being an ass, I know...just my humor. But with Durant at SF we have to be favorites right?

If he wanted to be in a place where he would be the "leader" and actually have a good shot at winning, it would have been a practical move for him.

“A guy that is a very confident shooter, an underrated defender and a great teammate. He’s fun to be around. He loves playing the game and he understands his role completely. He’ll fit right in.” -- Greg Popovich on Danny Green joining the Cavs

“Sure, you know that just logically,” Popovich said. “He’s going to say things. It will be great for J.B. to have another person there that’s been through all sorts of different situations. He’ll talk to somebody on the bus or on the plane. It’s just like osmosis. He’ll provide a lot of information that all the coaches won’t have time for, or they’ll be happy that they have an additional “coach” that kind of knows what’s going on. It’s all good, for sure.”

“He is a guy I grew up watching,” Mitchell said. “I remember watching him dancing on the bench with Bron and whatnot. I remember him watching him against the Heat, breaking Ray Allen’s three-point record. I hated him at the time. But I’ve known Danny and his family since I was probably 11 years old, 12 years old. We’ve played against AAU against his brother. I know his dad. So it’s kind of crazy how life works. A lot of things come full circle, especially for me this year. A lot of childhood things are starting to come back.

“But I think the first thing you think of is his way to space to the floor, but also his veteran presence around the locker room, calming presence, great personality. But when he gets in, he is a sniper, especially in big-time situations. He’s done it year in and year out. So there’s different things you can point to, but the first thing I would say is the shooting. And then also what he brings to our locker room is another veteran presence.”

Is he washed on defense?
Too early to tell but worth the risk even if he is. He is a movement shooter that we just got for free (or 2m i guess). Love Wade but he is more of a stand still catch and shoot guy. The only other guys we have right now that run off screens are Love (old and not playing rn), Cedi (inconsistent), and Garland/Mitchell (who will be doing other things most of the time). Its a huge dimension we have been missing. If Danny Green is even 60% of the defender he used to be, you take that as a guy who provides comprable spacing to someone like Doug McBuckets but also can defend Yi's chair.

taking their sweet fkn time to announce it though

Forgot one thing... most people can ignore a misspelling every now and then. But ffs, can you spell "the" correctly please? Over 50% of the time you enter "teh"
Actually I have the same problem.. my t- finger is faster than my h- finger..

I will respond because I am under the impression that you are directing your post to me.

How can you question my ability to evaluate talent when I came here and told everyone that I believed that the Cleveland Cavaliers could finish top four in the Eastern Conference and was a great bet to win the NBA at 100/1? That if they could somehow trade Kevin Love and a first round pick for Harrison Barnes that they would then be one player away? That this is the type of team that will pull the trigger on a deal, which they did?

And if I remember correctly, one of the moderators said that I did not know what I was talking about and that 85 percent of the forum members here believed that the Cleveland Cavaliers would finish 8-10?

This was perfectly readable. Thank you.

you cant make these types of investments without assurances...contractual assurances...im asuming that dallas has pretty much given kyrie his four year gazzilion dollar contract...but he can srtill walk

and thats why i never included that in teh suns/lakers all-in analogy....it was too big of a risk to have been considered something to compare to the cavs current situation.

teh bottom line is this and im not going ot argue it....teh cavs had to go into the cap next year....thats waht you do when you go-ain...which meant that a love deal sholdve been done this year.....

which in all likelihood meant that the cavs wouldve been an absolute unequivocal contender this year...

look at that cavs bench sans love compared to the bucks, csltics and 76ers

all things being equal....they in all likeihood have no chance
