That's ok. Neither do that Cavs.

92.3 Chris is talking about how Kyrie would respect Lue more than Blatt because Lue used to play and has rings... that worked so well with Byron Scott.

He keeps yelling about how blatts accolades mean nothing...17 champs in 21 years including an Olympic medal?? Give me a fucking break

Blatt will not be able to win the locker room unless we bring at least one or two legitimate veteran professional players who will support him. They don't have to play much or even contribute. Sadly it's like they need older brothers on the bench for these young players. This guy is brought in to coach not babysit. Unfortunately it seems like we have a nursery and not a roster. Guys like Tyson Chandler, Kurt Thomas, Eric Snow, Tony Allen, etc;. Players that take their job and desire to win seriously. Jack was brought in to do this but we all know how that turned out. As was pointed out in the Lloyd article, this team just failed to show up with any effort over and over until it was too late. I can understand a bad shooting night, but I cannot understand being paid seven figures and not even hustling or listening to the coach. I know Blatt won't understand or tolerate it either.

If they don't buy in right away it's going to be a tough season. Some of you are suggesting we trade whoever is not on board. I would like that too. But we are not living in an NBA 2K14 world. Would you gut your team until it essentially a roster of Delly and Varejao to teach them a lesson? They don't care and no way does that happen in today's NBA.

In today's NBA which is more likely to happen:
1. A team stands behind it's coach and trades the disgruntled star player or
2. Fires the coach, placates the player, and begs him to sign an extension?

That's why it's crucial the team identify early whether or not this core of players is going to buy in or not. If not, they have to make moves soon to take advantage of the assets they have and the increased level of trade activity at this time of year. If they do not, we'll either be trading players for pennies on the dollar or going through another year like last year.

To sum up, the Cavs need to bring in real veterans who are professionals and the identify who is getting on the Blatt train ASAP. Simple right? Oh yeah, they should also make sure to draft a star on Thursday.

Griffin's job is so easy.

#2 is what we have been doing (of course our coaches haven't been good either). You are right though. Teams that win have a culture that they bring young players into where they either buy into it or they are traded. This is something I used to complain about with the Reds. They finally figured it out and have been good ever since then. They obviously haven't been great, but the culture in the clubhouse has changed and for the better.

There are some players that could be brought in to help with Blatt's transition. They are names that RCF members will know.

Alexey Shved -now with the T-wolves. Shved not only played for Blatt on the Russian Olympic team, he thrived. It's not unfair to say Shved wouldn't be in the NBA today if it wasn't for Blatt. I know backup PG is not a priority because of Delly, but Shved would be an upgrade, and be able to mentor Karasev too. Grant reportedly was interested in acquiring this guy. Maybe that was Griffin's idea too.

Alexander "Sahsa" Kaun - another guy that played well for Blatt on the Russian team. Now 29 years old, played C for Kansas national champs. Possibly still Cavs draft property.

Andrei Kirilenko - AK47 star of the Russian team. Yes, he is old and washed up in NBA terms. But so was Nate Thurmond when he came to the Cavs.

ok this is the interview of David Blatt from today in radio 103fm,sorry for the translation.

Cleveland Cavaliers coach David Blatt , we feel strange saying this, good luck?
Yes it is a bit strange truth, thank you very much.

How did you hear about the appointment and how it happened?
I actually did the interview and I was supposed to fly the next day and they asked me to stay another day because they wanted to sit down and discuss all the candidates, I stayed and I got a call the next day to come, they said we will enter into negotiations with the agent, they said we want you to look the workouts we did for one of our candidates in the draft , and a few hours later I got a call from my agent that said Hello to the next coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

The American media was very interested in you at the weekend, they already asked you about the fact that you are the first coach without experience in the NBA as a player or as a coach ?
Not so much, they asked me not to talk to the media until the press conference on Wednesday.
But the people, the american media and the NBA management are aware that I'm not some rookie coach coming into the NBA, I coached for 20 years at the highest levels in Europe.

The NBA style is very different style European style.....?
The game is different in many ways but if you pay attention to clubs that succeed especially a team like San Antonio, who succeeds most is who plays European style and this may be one of the reasons I am now the coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

But perhaps the problem is that the players are not used to playing this game and you are a new coach to begin making changes is not a simple?
I'll tell you what I said in an interview with the owner, if I went to coach the Russian national team as a jew and American and an Israeli, and I managed to persuade the players to go to my method so I believe that as American that understand and very familiar with this world and these players I'll be able also to convince them to go my way .

David, you're not afraid to accept this enormous challenge?
When I was in Sweden and I thought the whole thing of the NBA i received SMS from my son saying: Dangerous real, fear is a choice.
When you ask me a question like this is something very far away from me, I was never afraid of challenging, never ran from criticism or those who did not believe, and maybe that's why I succeeded in the end.

How long you will have to adjust to the NBA?
It's true, I have a process of learning that I have to go through and I learn well, thankfully I got a good education and I'm not afraid of sitting and ask questions and get help, I decided already to coach in the Summer League to enter right down and learn the business closely and have the rest of the summer to catch up. I'll take a team of highly experienced with more knowledge than I have in the NBA, and it will take me a while, I know it will take me some time and I know that people doesn't have a lot of patience but believe me after what I experienced in Israel and what you did to me I'm not afraid of anything (laughter). I signed a contract for 3 years and I want already in 30 days to justify myself.

About the draft pick they already talked to you about this?
We were sitting, it's not a decision I take, it is a decision of the Griffin and the rest of the staff, I have some part in giving my opinion especially the method that I want to play and actually i did it and will continue to do in the coming days because many things happen in the last days before the draft and right away after the draft it's the opening of the free market players, we can if we want to make moves it also has to do with the draft decision.

Overall situation is in your favor, the club is after a bad period and you get a young team and you can prove yourself?
I hope to be successful, the job is not easy, but our goal to return to a winning team and be a legitimate playoff team and they brought me for this, I know where I'm going and I'm not afraid of it and I look forward to it.

Most excited for Summer League I've ever been.

Bennett
Karasev
Blatt
No. 1 pick.
Delly

Should be fun.

Comin' for that Summer League 'chip.

Then again, I was excited for the last few Summer Leagues and they were all terribly underwhelming.

I'd rather listen to MSB than Chris Fedor... Loves to hear himself talk, even though he's a flat out idiot

Griffin's job is so easy.

This right here is part of the reason many people want Parker on his coaching staff. Played with a few guys on the team, played for the new coach, was always a good, stable locker room guy, would already have a relationship with our current star player that can be that voice of reason.

Big thanks for that interview arsenali! Good to see Blatt honoring the Cavs wishes of not talking to the media. j/k :chuckles:

I feel really excited. If the team can take on the persona and culture of Blatt, the sky is the limit. I honestly feel that way.

So will we be picking up some Maccabi fans this season?

It sounds like he confirmed he will coach the summer league team as a wY to immediately get acclimated with some of the players on the team. With players as experienced as three years in eligible, I hope both Dion and Zeller play. All the guys not eligible to play should join them in Vegas for workouts and team bonding.

What has Kyrie achieved to allow him to NOT respect his coach? If he is a locker room issue with Blatt, then trade his ass. There's notice worse than a 21 year old prima donna who's a locker room problem (who can't get his team to the playoffs).

I'm going to give him the benefit of the doubt and presume he'll be a great team player.
