David Blatt v. Tyronn Lue

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Blatt got a raw deal only if you are looking solely at win-loss record.

He obviously had X’s and O’s talent, but in terms of player accountability and trust, he had a year and a half to fix a locker room divide and the team actually regressed in that regard.
Locker room issues that Lue wasn't able to really address Either. as soon as the playoffs started the team snapped in line just as in the season before.

Id have to ask if the Cavs didn't hire a backup of Lue stature ( someone they wrere already considering as head coach) would they have fired Blatt?

I don't think so. Blatt wouldn't of been fired Midseason if Griffins guy wasn't already on the coaching staff.

The whole Blatt vs Lue thing was about who gave ya the best shot for a championship. Lue has won the championship so the debate is moot. even if Blatt was capable and it could be proven that Blatt would of had it done in 5 or 6 games. Putting Lue in charge of the Cavs did not cost us a championship

the spin regarding practice times and relationships as well a discipline will always be spun against Blatt but he managed the team to the finals and had them in position to secure home court advantage in the EC.

We could continue to second guess Griffins decision all day long but to what end? we won the fuckin Championship!

Here is why I don't think you can trust the coverage:
Griffin to Woj: "Unfortunately 99% of that is manufactured outside of us. We never really had that much that much drama going on. It would be funny when I read the things being said. That was not our issue at all."
Channing Frye: “I just literally stopped watching ESPN and all that other kind of stuff,” he said. “It’s like I’m in the locker room and you guys are making up stuff that doesn’t even exist. It’s kind of crazy. For us, it just makes us meld together. We laugh about it at times; it brings us together.”
RJ: “To me, this season — and our team — comes down to narratives. All year long we heard about chemistry issues… It’s O.K. for others to speculate, but those narratives didn’t show us as we really were. And for most of the season, that was fine with us. We ignored it and tried to get our groove.”

I am glad I read this thread. You give credit to Blatt developing JR and Delly. Blatt only made Love as a big man shooter. Lue made an extra step in making this a championship team. Lue has the personality and the balls to make his team believe in him and utilized his players fully. Lue won the championship.

It should be said that both of these guys have a large committee working for them.

I feel like that never gets mentioned
