How about it, anyone playing this game. It is pretty bad ass, even in Alpha stage. What are your thoughts?

I'm waiting to see if they actually make some improvements before I buy it. That mod was out forever and barely any of the thousands of bugs ever got fixed. I don't have a lot of faith in Rocket to do the work right now.

I haven't bought it myself, but I like watching youtube vids of people playing it. It seems really cool, but there is still a lot of improvement that needs to be done. I played the mod a ton with some of my buddies. I probably won't get it unless I can get some of my friends to play it with me. It just doesn't have the same charm when you are running around by yourself.

Still on the stupid broken Arma2 engine.

Enough reason not to buy it.

Just looks like such an amazing game... But damn does it seem glitchy.. Just non-stop glitches, shit falling through the floor, bodies moving through walls, seeing gunsmoke through buildings, hearing someone eating literally 10 yards away while their in a building...

Then there's combat logging, which we used to call rage quitting in the SF community. That shit seems to get abused non-stop too.

After falling off a staircase WITH A RAILING and then subsequently spending 2 hours to get back to my body, only to have my guy warp out of my car and get run over by himself, I'm good on this until it's ready.

I doubt the standalone actually ever gets finished.

I think the concept is great.. The problem is they have no programmers. Why this is built on the Arma2 engine, I will never know, especially considering there are better alternatives that are very inexpensive (Unreal, Unity, even Ogre).

I've always wanted to make a game like this.. a survival simulator, with zombies and disease and shit... the need to eat food, drink water, bandage yourself.. I just think the guys should have ditched the Arma2 noise and either went with a more robust engine or rolled their own.

Shame I've never known a single decent 3D artist, or I'd fucking write it myself.

Started out as a mod for Arma2. Bohemia hired Rocket when Arma2 started getting mass sales on Steam because of DayZ. Pretty much the only thing I can figure.
