DeMarcus Cousins

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
People calling cousins a knucklehead is like saying lebron can't play in the post. Yes it used to be true but get with the times.

You guys should go check out the lakers forum. I don't think they would trade clarkson for kyrie and watch out Randle will be Karl Malone next year. Sad stuff

Cousins won't get traded you'd have to be a complete moron to do that. He has 3years left on his contract even if he were pissed you still try to build around him this year at minimum. The starting lineup when healthy was top 10 in 5man group in the league don't let the W/L fool you.

Giving this a big bump.

Cousins is my dream trade target. The Paul George dream has died (at least until the Summer). Cousins has been an absolute monster this year and will be a Free Agent this Summer. He has played very well against the Warriors throughout his career and is a mismatch for them. Bonus: he hates them too. He & Love would work together too, on both ends of the court.

The Pelicans are .500 right now. Currently the 8th seed in the West. Here's to hoping they get even worse heading into the deadline.

I have been going nuts in the Brooklyn pick thread.

Make no mistake though, they are not trading an-all NBA player in his prime for a draft pick, Shumpert, Frye and Osman.

We're going to need to package Love and possibly the Brooklyn pick to get Cousins.

I would still do it in a heartbeat. One of the strongest physical/skill 1-2 punches in NBA history.

A DIRECT MISMATCH for both the Celtics and the Warriors. Both of those teams, when they see that guy go to play with LeBron are going to shit themselves.

This is a game of fucking matchups, people do not seem to understand this. Kevin Love, as good as he is; he's a match-up net negative for us.

Sure, his stats are great he does some great things but Golden State has no fear of Love, they invite him to the rim so they can get their dicks hard for free layups.

...Why? He was traded for a bag of chips before with 2 years left on his contract. Now he's only got a few months left. Unless we get in a bidding war there's no way we should have to trade Love to get him.

Believe me, I would LOVE to keep Kevin too, but I would do anything to get Cousins.

People do not understand how good this dude is, and how he has not played with a player 1/4 as good as LeBron James.

An All-NBA beast IN HIS PRIME..... Love is not in his prime, that draft pick won't be for 5 years. LeBron will be retired by then.

He's a distinct matchup disadvantage for Golden State and Boston.

You give up whatever you give up.

You get him on the team. LeBron is not walking away from a talent like that.

He is walking away if you keep the status quo, and rely on a rookie draft pick to improve the team.

I agree with all that, but point is we shouldn't need to surrender Love. Who's outbidding a deal with the Brooklyn pick? Again, remember he's a Free Agent in a few months. No non-contender will give up near that much for him. That doesn't leave many teams...

Wizards with a deal highlighted by Otto Porter?
Rockets with a deal highlighted by Clint Capela?
Thunder with a deal highlighted by Steve Adams?
Blazers with a deal highlighted by CJ McCollum?

Note: Didn't include the Celtics because they are quite obviously playing for the future and aren't going to ruin that for DeMarcus Cousins.

I don't see Houston messing with what they have. Adding Cousins to the Thunder situation just seems like a recipe for disaster. And the chances of Cousins staying in Portland without McCollum would be real slim.

The only one on that list I could really see as a possibility is the Wizards (especially because of his relationship with Wall) but is Otto Porter worth more than the Brooklyn pick? In this draft? I...don't think so. We could always include Cedi as a sweetener. But, Love should not be necessary.

I would bet money that the pelicans ride it out with him. If they move Cousins in season, they might as well just move Davis too. Can't see how the organization would be able to sell Davis on draft picks when he's already playing with another top 10 guy.

They got another, what, 3 years before having to worry about that? What if they draft a superstar?

And if they don't? They would have traded a superstar for a guy who isn't.

Just don't think you take that risk if you're NO.

You're taking a bigger risk letting him walk for nothing in a few months.

If he says at the trade deadline that he's not coming back, then yeah, explore your options. But that doesn't seem likely to happen. If he wants to leave in the summer, they can work out a sign and trade.

Hope Cousins is OK. It really looked like an Achilles injury. Hope not

Yep. Non contact. Grabbed his ankle.

Now, he was moving that foot while he was on the ground, so you hope maybe it's a calf like what TT had (TT kind of reacted the same way).

Just have to hope against hope that it wasn't an achilles.

He's been extremely used this season, I mean every game, every minute, I hope it's not a serious injury. Are these wear and tear related injuries? Achilles related, Gentry was just talking last week how he has to find these big men some rest.
