Denzel Ward

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Still think he’s a pretty solid player.

Runs very crisp routes. Had a lot of bad drops last year and never really was able to get completely in a groove with Carr.

We’ll see if Gruden can get him the ball more this year and if he cleans up the concentration issues.

At the end of the day, he's a WR2 at best masquerading as a WR1.

Apropos of nothing, it will never not be hilarious that Amari Cooper is only six months older than Calvin Ridley yet the two were never college teammates because Cooper got drafted before Ridley was even enrolled for his freshman year at Bama.

Ridley's another super-overrated Alabama player who got overdrafted because of where he played in college.

Literally almost every Alabama offensive skill player for the last decade. Everyone of them outside of Jones has been trash...and I think Julio is kind of overrated too. Hes a great between the 20's WRer but he is ass in the redzone.

Is it his fault he’s double and triple teamed down there and Sark couldn’t run a play for him to get open if he wanted to.

Anyways, Mark Ingram has been pretty damn good consistently, but yeah that’s really about it for the Bama boys.

Michael Thomas vs. Denzel Ward is going to be a fun matchup. Ward was Thomas's teammate his final season at Ohio State, but they are both better players now. After week one, I'm guessing Brees doesn't force the ball against Ward like Big Ben did.

As one of the biggest "draft Ward #4" fans on the forum... this was not a great game. Thomas is a great receiver and Brees attacked with him frequently.

There still are positives to take away, though. Ward's biggest weakness is stopping passes within the first ten yards, and Thomas attacked him there, but Ward was good everywhere else. He also missed one tackle on Kamara.

I still think the dude is going to be an all-pro corner.

So, we played a lot of zone for some reason in this one. I can’t really put it on Ward.

Yeah, I meant to point that out. It was a terrible defensive gameplan. Especially with our specific type of talent against the Saints. Williams overthought this bigly.

Thomas pretty well baptized Ward today.

No shame in the game, he’ll be fine.

Nobody in the NFL is better than Brees at manipulating the pass rush and escaping pressure effectively. Might as well frustrate him with inconsistent coverage packages. Gregg called a great game.
