The word from Real Cavs Fans

Do you see Desagana Diop in a Cavalier uniform next season and why?
* No. Because I think Earl Boykins could play the center position more effectively. I don't think Diop really thinks all that much either.
* No. It is quite clear from both sides that his future lies elsewhere. Diop believed he deserved more time, whilst the sane world said he should remained seated.
* No. He was unhappy here and doesnt feel that he got enough playing time.
* No, he's not under contract and has been in "Maybe next year, he's still developing"- mode since he's been here. 3, or is it 4?
* Hell no. The only reason he was still on the roster was because no one else wanted him.
* No, I think the cavs and diop are gonna part ways.
* No. To put it frankly, he sucks. More specifically, in games which Diop played non-garbage minutes, I think the Cavs won maybe 5% of those.
* No, because he hasn't done anything to return as a Cavalier.
* No way. No more please. How did he get retained over Ruben Boumjte Boumjte

Did Desagana Diop reach your expectations this season?
* Yes, he reached and surpassed my expectations! That gives you an idea of my expectations for Diop.
* Well I actually thought he'd hit at least 1 free throw. He actually regressed (didn't think it was possible) from last season in almost all facets.
* My expectations for him this season was to contribute almost nothing to the team except blocking a couple shots here and there. He pretty much met my expectations well.
* No. As low as they are, I thought he would have about 3 or 4 monster block games, like the time he had 8 in that summer league game.
* I didn't have any expectations from him to begin with.
* I didn't expect him to play at all this yr. so i guess i have 2 say yes.
* I thought he would be a better player than last season, but he was absolute total nothing.
* I mean, I wanted to see him play more, and maybe improve.. he played a little bit better, so i think this season was C-
* Expectations are when you expect them to do something. Nothing is not something.

What did you like out of Desagana Diop this season?
* His season high 6 point games, both of them. I also loved it when he attempted a 3 pointer despite the fact that he can't hit a 1 footer consistently.
* Seeing that he wasn't getting alot of playing time, it would have been possible that he cause some districations by voicing his displeasures. He either remained silent or noone listened, take your pick.
* A couple good defensive games and that one nasty dunk he had on that 7 footer from Africa in Dallas.
* I feel cruel, but I can't think of a single thing. I almost cried every time he entered the game, because the lead would automatically vanish.
* This season, nothing at all. The 03-04 season was far a better season for him.
* Him on brand and gasol.The way he played these 2 is what i expected from him. He outscored gasol 2 points to 1 and gasol was fustrated. Plus he had that 1 good game where he shown alot of promise. He showed that he does have the court vision when he plays smart.
* Wow this is hard. I'm sure he did some great community work.
* His shot blocking abilities.
* I like a team of many nations. Diop gave us our African connection.

What didn't you like out of Desagana Diop this season?
* Not enough playing time to really allow for much comedy to occur.
* The fact his game somehow got worse. He lacked just about everything. For a guy his size not to get to the line and knock down a free throw all season is inexcusable.
* The lack of energy he played with. Last season he would at least provide some energy off the bench. This season he looked like he was bored and didnt care sometimes.
* God help the guy, he's just not a basketball player- he's just a very tall man. I really hated his "pump-fake passes" to his own guys, easily read by the defense and picked off in the passing lanes. His court vision really is THAT bad.
* I didn't like the fact that he hasn't improved since the day he was drafted. Don't get me wrong, I like Diop, he is just not polished enough to get make it in the league. (yet)
* His head doesn't seem in the game all the time. Thats his problem.
* The fact that he would play in non-garbage time situations. Diop is always a sign that the game is over, one way or another. If we dont have a 10 point lead when Diop comes in, then Diop means the Cavs lose.
* Lack of minutes, and his headband that he wore-lol
* I just posted a response to this question but it blocked out all the curse words. No fun.

Was Desagana Diop given a decent oppotunity this season?
* I think it was clear that giving him a decent opportunity would have resulted in a huge disaster.
* He was given ample oppotunity, in which he chose not to take.
* I think so. There were a few games where he got big minutes off the bench. He didnt do enough with those minutes to warrant any consistent playing time.
* If you play like you practice, 3 or 4 years of sucking in practice for the coaching staff couldn't have been wrong. I was shocked when Paul Silas was actually bringing him in 2nd guy off the bench.
* I don't think he was given a shot at all, but do you blame the coaches for that? I don't.
* Actually no. this isn't the right team for him...If he wanted that he shoulda went to college. Some ppl need college and he's clearly one of those guys. Right now i'm hoping he goes to a young team that would play him and not looking to win right now. He needs to be on a team with teachers. Bobcats are 1 team that will be still looking to play young guys and give them experience, And imo thats a team he shoulda been on this yr. if they would have taken him.Alanta might not be a bad place for next yr as well as NO.
* Unfortunately, yes.
* Not really..
* No. Putting him on the floor as much as we did only added to the humiliation. Sitting him was for the better as it didn't showcase his ineptness.

Rate Desagana Diop out of 10. 1 for bad, 10 for great.
* Real cavs Fans voted Desagana Diop as a 2 out of 10. To some it up Diop was a flop!

A few last words on Desagana Diop.............................
* I wish you luck as a Hack-a-Shaq player on some other team.
* Plain and simple he disappointed. A bad pick and an even worse player. Glad to see him go, so that the constant reminder of another bust pick is no longer visable. Out of sight, out of mind.
* He's fat
* The draft pick didn't seem like a bad idea at the time, but let's face it, there is no good counter for Shaq. Who knew he'd be so slow both mentally and physically?
* Diop had more fouls than points this year. He didn't make a free throw all year. That's never good. Especially in your fourth year...
* What happend to this guy? He was supposed to be our defensive monster? Every season he just got worse and worse but showed flashes and hints that he can play. His shot contesting is very valuable, and I like the fact that he can get the offensive board with ease. If Diop had at least a small amount of offensive game, I would consider signing him back, but since he can't do squat in the post there is no need for him.
* I'm not a fan of him but i believe with coaches that are willing to play him and teach him he would become a decent player as a backup or atleast a decent starter in this league full of nobodies at the 5.
* Please dont resign this guy
* I wish he could of blossomed here, but he didn't. I wish him the best of luck and maybe he can become a dominat player somewhere down the line.
* I'd say goodbye to Diop without any regrets. He's shown little to no improvement since coming to Cleveland. I think he's happy he got his big rookie contract so he doesn't really care. It's still unbelievable that he hasn't yet developed 1 post move. A valid argument could be made that he's actually regressed in 4 years.
I think coaches have worked with him plenty but to quote Silas "you can't make chicken salad out of chicken $hit." Diop always has a couple of performances where he shows a little something an dgets people's hopes up but then quickly goes back to his usual poor game.
* He isn't a terrible developmental big man, the kind of guy you find late in the 2nd round and bury on the bench or stash in Europe. The problem is, Diop was a developmental big..... WHO WAS DRAFTED IN THE LOTTO. That's basically why everyone hates him. If he would have been a late 2nd rounder or an undrafted free agent this conversation would be much different. Sadly, he wasn't and his time as a Cavalier is at an end.
* I'd bet that no team in the NBA looks at him or, perhaps more accurately, employs him next year. You'd have to be awfully hard up at center for him to find any playing time.
* One word will do. Begone.
