It doesn't matter if it's criminal or not, this is about PR hit to the NFL.

If Watson doesn't settle now and cut this shit off, it's going to get worse for the NFL, and by proxy be a massive PR hit for the NFL.

He has tried to settle twice, Buzbee wants the trial. This is 2 seasoned pro lawyers going at it, first in the court of public opinion, then in the court. This will go one for a bit and not a damn thing Watson can do about it except be less of a sleezeball in the past.

He's free to sleeze in the future though?

It can tell us he very likely set up each of these under the guise of wanting a professional massage, knowing he was going to try to coerce them into having sex or performing sexual acts. Based on how predators behave, he likely would have started slow and built up his confidence over time to be more direct and aggressive in what he was after.

We don't know the timeline of the various allegations and it is entirely possible that the ones that alleged forcible touching were not the last ones. In any case, cases that did not involve forcible touching likely would be inadmissible to prove a pattern of conduct involving forced touching.

Its called a class action suite, and i think that is what Buzbee has been going for from the beginning.
There is a difference between a class action suit, and a lawsuit involving multiple plaintiffs with the same claim. A class action usually requires a lot more people, and determining compensation would be difficult given that the plaintiffs claims are not all the same.

Pretty sure Buzbee has been going for an aggregated case, not a class action.

I hate to be doom and gloom but what a job Tony Buzbee has done. These women are going to get paid, there’s calls for Watson to never play a down in the NFL again and Buzbee is now the good guy. Browns are fucked, I really didn’t want Jimmy G…

Buzbee's case may be much stronger in the court of public opinion than it is in a court of law. If the NFL chooses to hand down a multi-season suspension to Watson, he has much less incentive to settle those cases.

I recommend that anyone who has employed the grand jury no-bills as evidence in support of Watson’s innocence and/or a conspiracy against him read that New York Times article.

I support Watson facing his transgressions in a court of law.
I also support him playing football.

I do not, ever, wish to ignore a woman's criminal complaint, but the fact that their complaints were specifically solicited certainly gives me pause.
To Watson: Get this settled, pay the price, and play ball. And be a better person.

The NFL has a chin of steel.
It's true, which is why I don't think we see the extreme suspension of Watson. They can take a punch and Watson is a legit superstar QB. But...if he makes it worse and worse....
