Sort of like how the Bulls had rodman. Just throwing it out there. How would ron artest sound, is he being shopped?

I would like someone brought in with some "court attitude", but I believe our front office is primarily looking for the nice guys to fill our squad.

AV isn't a bad boy, but I am sure he will get on the other team's nerves. I think he will be the closest to a bad boy we will have.

Either that, or Ira Newble needs to go on a big mean streak and start fouling people hard. He isn't going to get the minutes like he did last season, so he is going to have to play some sort of defensive role. That could fit him quite nicely, but too bad he is too laid back.

Nowadays its hard to find a "bad boy" that isnt a cancer in the lockeroom or a risk to miss half of the season from suspensions. I think AV could fit that role in the future. He seems like a nice guy but he has some attitude when hes on the court. I remember some games where he would just frustrate the hell out of whoever he was guarding. I think it was Antoine Walker that got really mad at him because AV was getting physical and he drew some charges against him by flopping. AV got in his face and both got technicals.

Thats what I like about AV. He just doesn't give a damn. He's out there to be comepetive, and he shows it to every player he is facing.

He will go after every block. He doesn't care if it's Shaq with the ball, AV will get dunked on, but he will put a hand up there because he just doesn't care about getting humiliated.

Now if we can somehow get a Brazilian translater to sit next to him and tell him that the other team was talking about his mother, then we might have ourselves the bad boy we want. :gap:

the proper word for this is ENFORCER

the pistons had like 3 of these guys..

Haha, I know what you mean. I hope he stays this way because I'm tired of people being nice to the other team.

not to mention when AV was left with just a few feet of daylight for an open jumper, homeboy would just take the ball to the hole instead and draw contact at least.

I don't think so. I think those days are gone. The league has cut down on physical play, cheap shots and players in fights get bigger penalties now.
Recent champions and contenders really haven't had anyone who might be considered an enforcer.

You do want to get tough aggressive players that will play hard though.

You could consider Bruce Bowen an enforcer or at the very least, a semi-goon who plays dirty and gets away with it due to his "defensive stopper" reputation. All you need is respect from the league and a reputation, then you can play more physical than you previously could.

Dang you beat me to saying Bruce Bowen he is a defensive pest he undercuts people pokes them bumps them throws bows and just flat out strokes the long ball. He would be welcome on this team any day.

I think every team needs a bad boy, and the Bulls had one of the best in Dennis Rodman, and Indiana certainly have one in Ron Artest. The difference between them though is that Rodman is alot smarter than Artest and can keep him self under control.

Take the Nov. 19 fight for example. Artest went into the stands and got into a fight with the fans. I think Rodman would've stayed at the announcers desk and just looked and cussed at the fan.

Well that's where we'll miss Tractor as he wasn't afraid to mix it up inside or give a hard foul or two. I really wish we can sign him back.

(Everyone on this board knows I don't even like him all that much but he showed up at the end of last year and produced)

Unfortunately Traylor was hurt by our snub and would be long odds to accept an offer back into Cleveland.

i wonder if the sonics will make an offer, or match a offer to REGGIE EVANS ? he is a strong rebounder, and a hard nose defender...he has a enforcer attitude.

Traylor was our guy, and the Cavs did win the 2 games he got ejected from on national tv

Newble is our poor man's version of Bowen and Artest.
