-While plenty of media outlets are speculating about a potential deal between Cleveland and Phoenix, we’ve heard some talk of a possible trade between Cleveland and Washington actually. The deal would essentially be a cost-cutting move for the Wizards, sending Antawn Jamison and filler (Mike James) to the Cavs for Ben Wallace and Sasha Pavlovic. Wallace seems likely to retire, and Pavlovic is on a non-guaranteed contract for next season. It’s not clear whether the Wizards would need to surrender the #5 pick. Jamison is attractive to the Cavs since he’s exactly the type of combo forward they were missing to match up with Orlando’s Rashard Lewis and Hedo Turkoglu.

So we might get the number 5 pick too?

If so I am all for it.

If we get that number 5 not even have to think about, but if we dont then im not sure.

I'm sure if we got the #5 pick we would find a way to grab a bust.. this is Cleveland.

I doubt the #5 pick will be traded to us, but if it does I hope like god dam hell that Hasheem Thabeet falls to 5.

We could then run

C: Hasheem
PF: Jamison
SF:LeBron
SG: West
PG: Mo

Although i don't really want Jamison.

Shit, if we got the 5th pick I'd look for a way to parlay that, along with Hickson, into Bosh or Stoudemire, and then sign Gortat with the MLE.

Mo
Delonte
LeBron
Bosh
Gortat

Jamison could move to the "6th man" role that he THRIVED in while he was in Dallas. Re-up AV and then a lengthy wing defender type is all we'd need.

Now, I highly doubt we get the 5th pick along with Jamison for our garbage, but a guy can dream, can't he?

If we somehow end up with the no. 5 pick, who would we most likely go after? No way Thabeet is there for a Z replacement, but any other taller high quality wing'ish players?

Jamison still interests me some even at his age and his new contract, he would be a really good fit but at the same time if we have a shot at Villanueva it wouldn't make sense to grab Jamison at his age. But if we could get that number 5 pick also (which i doubt), you do it.

Right team, wrong player...I want Butler not Jamison. Even if we swap 1st with them, I'm not sure who I would want.

There aren't many players in this draft that I can see coming in and contibuting right away for the Cavs. I would probably prefer Tyreke Evens because of his versitility (even though we know we need a bigger SG/Combo Guard).

even with the 5th pick, i don't know if I do it, this draft is just not that good. how bout the wiz switch out butler for jamison and they can even keep the 5th pick. then i'm interested.

jamison is another one of those guys, like shaq, that you can probably get after you've exhausted all other options.

Jamison's contract = :puke:

As it has been stated with other potential guys the Cavs are looking at, I would hate for the Cavs to have to tell LBJ next summer "hey, we would love to sign a guy like Chris Bosh, but since we owe 34 year old Jamison all of this money, he's your sidekick."

While I'd never be upset if Danny does something to make the Cavs better (although I'd rather have Butler for sure, as has been mentioned, Jamison is old and has a horrible contract) I'm a little reticent to make our most hated rivals any better...I would think a large part of their fanbase would feel the same.

I'd be very surprised if this happens. Thanks to the OP for putting the info out there, though.

Interesting..like I said yesterday we'll hear of a ton of trade rumors..but it's a result of Ferry wearing out his cell phone.

Jamison is a proven playoff performer, which I love about him. If the fifth pick is involved we should make it happen without any second thoughts, so I can get to a Tyreke Evans Cavs jersey!!! I love Evans for anybody who doesn't know. I still think it's too risky banking on the HOPE of landing a Bosh or someone along those lines next year, if we can get a guy who has shown he WILL show up in the playoffs plus a top 5 pick, as I said no second thoughts, although I'd be willing to do it even without the pick. Anyway we could save Sasha and they keep Mike James? just a straight Ben/30 for Jamison?
