This idea they have that Shaqtin is better/less "dirty" is silly, though; wasn't too long ago that he "accidentally" gave Blake Griffin a severe concussion and joked with Livingston right after.

You can see that ZaZa understands that the ball is already elsewhere. So there’s no argument for going for the ball to get a tie up.

You can also see in the replay that no one pushes him and no feet are tangled up with his. You can see him bend his knees down and just fall on Russ.

Finally, you can actually see in his falling motion that he angles for Russ’s knees/ankle. A straight down fall, while still dirty and not a result of any contact from another player, would have resulted in ZaZA falling over Russ’s chest/upper body.

At best, it was a cheap, dirty, reckless play to pin Russ on the ground and keep him from getting up and trailing on the break. At worst/face value, it was a cheap, dirty, reckless play with intent/hope to injure.

The league should do something but will not.
