Howard is just a center now. Not much better than any starting center.

He is an above average center boderline all star still when it comes to play, but his disruption to any team makes him an overall net negative contributor.

He is a poor mans Drummond or DeAndre with Rondo's attitude.

Any team that takes him own is making a huge mistake.

are we really taking chris sheridan seriously now?

I took a lot of arrows defending Dwight over the years. He was a great player before the back surgery. He probably should have won MVP in 10-11.

But when he started flying in that 17 year old to **** I just stopped. And now that he is burning bridges for yet another team... Just NO. I'm done defending him permanently. He isn't one of the best players in the league any more and his shtick is exhausting. For all his offenisve demands, he hasn't worked on his craft enough over the years to make such demands. And his personality is not conducive to winning. I think he is going to have a rude awakening when his FA hits and his list of suitors is limited to teams like Sac, NYK, etc.

99% of the time I agree with you, Sheridan is an embarrassment. However there is that 1% of the time he's right. He was all in on Lebron coming to Cleveland early.

...Maybe.

Just to keep it real, he had no idea how old the chick was. And buying someone a plane ticket doesn't really cost that much when you put things into perspective. He maybe spent $500 between her flight and hotel room? Howard is a multi-millionaire. He makes that kind of money in a matter of minutes.

I don't think it's that big a deal, personally; really, I don't think that was anybody's business.

We really don't know what the situation is. We have these two reports, and they both could be feeding off the other.

But he has a legitimate complaint.

He's getting 8.3 FGA's this season, compared to say 13.4 over his last two seasons in Orlando. Let's assume he is grumbling about this, or his agent is; is that wrong? Howard was putting up ~21ppg/14rbs his last two years in Orlando.

If Houston made a pitch to him that if he left Los Angeles they would have him as a centerpiece, and they've never tried to make that work, then yes, he's got a legitimate complaint. Especially considering they seem to work better in small ball anyway, and the league is generally moving that direction.

He's 30 years old, and he's got one big contract left. I can understand if there is some sense of urgency in his camp to improve his numbers.

I totally understand where you're coming from, and I'm definitely not a Dwight Howard fan. But in this instance, if he's pissed about how he's being utilized in Houston, well, I would be too.

I would trade for him. I would give up anything other than Lebron, Kyrie, and Love.

I also think it's unfair how people put all the blame on Dwight at all his stops. Lets not act like that Orlando didn't have half their roster on PED's. Lets not act like they didn't add Gilbert Arenas to an already fucked up roster. They paid Rashard Lewis $110M lol. But it was all Dwight Howards fault.

Oh and the Lakers.....Yea that was all Dwight Howard's fault :rolleyes2:
Lets see. Pay Kobe $30M per, make a dumb trade for Steve Nash, Hire Mike Brown

It's also funny how o many people call him soft like he wasn't the most dominant defensive player in the league. I mean wtf he should have won 4 straight DPOTY. He was to DPOTY what Lebron was to MVP. You could just chalk both of them up for those awards every year and you wouldn't be wrong. I know as Cavs fans most of us on here hate him because of the ORL series but don't get it twisted, as limited as people want to say he is offensively that's never been his game. He's a defensive force who can score points.

There are some health concerns right now and although he's only 30 he's in his 12th season. One last thing, Dwight absolutely dominated that series against Portland that Lillard hit the game winner and eliminated them. Nobody will bring that up though because you know fuck Dwight Howard right....

hes scoring like 1.5 points a shot still. shooting 60%. he rebounds. he defends.

yea you take him.

then you remember he's dwight howard and.. we bynum'ed out.

he wouldnt exactly get 20 shots a game here either.

Pretty much

If it's just playing with Harden and not the number of touches then you definitely trade for him if you were the Cavs. He's not half man half amazing anymore but damn put him in the middle with Love, Lebron, and Irving: he can catch all the lobs he wants and defend the paint.

There is no combination of players on this roster I would willingly trade away to get Howard. Keeping Love, LeBron, and Kyrie out of the conversation, we'd have to give up something that looks like Shumpert, TT, and whatever other throw in to get him.

I'd rather have Iman Shumpert, Tristan Thompson, and some other throw in/draft pick on this team than crybaby Dwight who is already 30 years old.

You'd be able to swing a Howard trade money wise with AV, Harris (or Kaun) and Shump. Then you could probably take back Corey Brewer in a 2nd separate trade by sending picks out then using the Haywood TPE to take the salary back which would make up for losing Shump. This wouldn't be a horrible move. ( I really dislike Howard but if it's just a Harden issue a team like the Cavs might have to role the dice if it doesn't cost much)

TT and Shump combined is roughly around 27 mill which about 4mil more than Howard makes. (Once TT's Base year compensation status has cleared) Even for those that want to trade TT it isn't really worth doing until next summer due to his current BYC status and the restrictions that brings.

He wouldn't want 20 shots per game here. He would be the defensive force he's comfortable being. He'd have the easiest shots he'd ever get with assist from Lebron, Kyrie, Love, and Delly. He would be winning. Winning would make a lot of this nonsense about him "being Dwight Howard" go away.

Kyrie
Lebron
Love
Dwight

Assuming we have to include Shump and TT in a trade it really doesn't matter who you start at SG with those four because that already 2 elite defenders, 3 elite scorers, and 2 elite shooters. Hell you could start Delly next to Kyrie. If Houston approached the Cavs I can't see a scenario where if they don't ask for Lebron, Kyrie, or Love that we don't listen or pull the trigger.
