Eagles 1st round pick watch

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yeah I took a look at the depth chart before the season started and thought "this team may not win a game"

3 win teams that let all of its key free agents walk and 25% of the roster comprised of rookies..certainly didn't expect more than 2 wins

Piss on "value". Beggers can't be choosers fellas. Remember when the Browns thought they were finally going to get their guy last year...oh wait? You never know when you'll get a chance to draft a franchise guy again. I like him, but slim chance in hell Kessler ends up being the guy and these coaches/management's jobs are going to come down to winning and they aren't going to have forever to do it. Nothing is more valuable than a franchise QB. If the Texans had to do it again...do you think they'd rather have Carr or Clowney :chuckle:

If a guy they love is sitting there at 7-10 and you don't think he will be there for your next pick...take him.

That guy is not in this draft.

Slapping the "franchise guy" label on any of these guys is pretty disingenuous.

The "picking a QB high in the first round" thing is especially fascinating to me because of the Haslam factor.

I wasn't/am not big on Wentz, but they did pass on him and are likely 0-16 this year.

If they punt on the QB position again in 2017 and end up only winning 0-3 games with the worst set of QBs in the league again, I think Jimbo could get tired of the plan and heads could roll.

If they pick Trubisky/Watson/Kizer at 7 and only win 3 games, even if said QB has a below average year like Wentz has had this year, the perception would be that things are going in the right direction even if the wins aren't there because they've addressed the most important spot.

It's not fair, but having a young QB in place probably buys Hue and the front office more time to implement their plan.

I don't think any of these QBs are top 10 worthy, but I do think it's possible one gets picked by the Browns higher than people would like due to circumstances.

If the Browns do overreach on a QB, it will be Trubisky, IMO. The other two are too raw or too flawed, IMO.

Trubisky is the right amount of talent and some experience. But I dont think any of these guys are day one starters.

Agreed on all counts. Though I do think with proper seasoning a couple of them could be top 15 QBs in the NFL at the very least. Trubisky definitely.

Is there no chance these QBs free fall to late first round early second round? Even one of them?

I do not want to see another 1st round pick wasted on a QB that is not that franchise player. It would just follow right along with the mistakes of past regimes. I would be ok if they traded down the Philly pick. But, they have an opportunity to add an elite pass rusher to anchor the line, and rebuild that very weak secondary. This particular draft is strong in defensive players. We should be smart and take advantage of that.

Gameday. Let's go Giants. Should be a close game; the line is at +2.5 for the Eagles at home. ESPN Insider saying to take them. Need the more well-oiled machine of New York to take care of this.

Fucking Lane Johnson...
