ECF: Cavs 4 - Hawks 0

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
There is actually a position of psychologist in the club?? What does he do all the time?
You'd be surprised to learn nearly every pro sports franchise has such a position. And further surprised that players regularly take advantage of the service for all sorts of reasons.

Source: My uncle is the team psychiatrist for the Tennessee Titans ;)

Cavs in 6. I'd say 5 if they had home court. They are really playing like a team now and ATL is barely getting by less worthy opponents. I've got tix for game 3 Sunday in CLE. Go Cavs !!

We do. But he really needs to play like it and then some.
Where we could beat the Bulls with LeBron shooting 40% and doing other things. I think he's going to need to be more efficient and score more this series and hopefully the finals.

We need 50% from the floor 29 to 30 pts a game LeBron.

For his career. He usually dominates in the ECF. His only off year was last year.

He should be due for a better shooting series. I hope so.
Yes he absolutely has to play better. It's funny to say that about a guy with god like numbers for the Bulls series, but i'm sure he would tell you he didn't play well against CHI.

Make no mistake, Chicago has a pretty damned good defense, and Butler may win a DPOY some day. I don't see that with Atlanta, or Carrol. Not to say they are terrible, but it's going to take them a lot of work to guard LeBron as well as Chi was able to.

Gives me some hope, and my god I hope Kyrie is Kyrie. Having a few days off hopefully helped him a lot, because we absolutely need him to win his match up to win the series.

I mean look at how much trouble they had with the Wiz. Pierce is a shell of himself, Wall is not nearly as hard to guard as Kyrie, and Nene played like a scrub in the series. We have a shot, hopefully a good one.

LeBron averaged 26/11/9/2/2 against the Bulls. Thats incredible. He still shot the worst and the turned the ball over more than he has in years. Thats speaks to how great he is.

It will be interesting to see how he plays the first two games in Atlanta. That will tell us if he's drained or relieved.

Did the Bulls wear down LeBron or since he's past the Bulls/Jimmy Butler we can finally see dominant LeBron again?

Looking forward to Wednesday's game.

Hawks have the guy that blazes on the organ... Annoying but I like it.

Advantage- Hawks.

A cool article on him:

WTF is wrong with his right arm? :chuckle:

Demare Caroll is legit. He will bother the crap out of Lebron.

I think he may be the most valuable player on the Hawks. They are SO FREAKING GOOD. However, with LBJ and Kyrie we can win this thing. It won't be easy. But I think we have the horses to pull it out.

I've stated several times in this thread how good Carroll is. He's the "Leonard" of their offense/defense. Not as good. But very capable.

Again we'll know what kind of LeBron we're getting after the first couple of games. The truth is he played Crowder and Butler is back to back series. Thats a lot of physical defense. Just gotta hope he can find a rhythm since he doesnt have to see Butler again.

Its part of the reason I wanted us to play the Wizards because LeBron would have finally face a team with no one who can guard him (well).

A lot of praise for a team that struggled to get past the Wizards. Atlanta is a good team but they are incredibly overrated IMO. They're slightly better than Chicago but a team we have far better match ups against.

Can they beat us? Sure. Will they? If Kyrie is 80%, we beat them IMO. I don't care how good Caroll is. I can't imagine LeBron is going to shoot near 40% in another series.

We will be rested and we WILL win.

If Bron can work Butler he can work Carroll

Not really, just plain shit. Opposing fans always take over the Georgia Dome, even when the Falcons are good.

And the Hawks always have empty seats in playoff games.

By the way, its not disrespectful to say coach Bud is better than Blatt. He coached a way less talented team to 60 wins.
I've watched some of the recent Hawks games, and in fairness I'd say their fans have been pretty supportive and vocal. Plus they have that super annoying emcee who does that high pitched "foooor threeeee" which seems like it would drive opposing players nuts. And that damn organ music.. I dunno it seems like it might be a semi tough place to play. That said, I think the Cavs have shown the ability to win on the road.

Butler average vs Lebron

42mpg
21ppg
40%fg
37%3pt
86%ft

That's pretty damn good considering he was guarding Lebron for 42 minutes, I predict that caroll will be exhausted guarding lebron and will struggle offensively because he will be stunned at how hard it is to guard lebron and how much energy goes into that

You have to gauge ATL off of what Chicago had and didn't have.
Both have a guy who only shoots 3s, both have a great PG, both have a solid defense. Bulls have better bigs. But ATLs bigs can pass and shoot out to 3. That will be a look we have to keep track of BUT that also allows us to play LeBron at the 4 ALOT because Milsap and Horford aren't gonna physically bang him up. And LeBron at the 4 is a mismatch in our favor so they won't like that.

This series will come down to how slow we can operate our offense and how many scoring droughts we can get out of ATL.
