Edwin Encarnacion signs with Indians

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
1st round pick may not make to the big leagues for 5 years. Our window to win is open NOW. Fuck it.

Not saying it's a back breaker or anything...

Seiklis was listing what the move entails, figured losing a 1st round pick should be mentioned.

Line up porn time. With EE a healthy pitching staff and hopefully Brantley comes to form and Gomes returns to 20+ homer 260 hitter and holy heck he would bat 7th or 8. I am in the holiday spirit now with major Tribe fever.

So glad I split season tickets with my cousin. This is going to be a fun year.

What does this do for future spending in years 2 and 3?

Year 2 Santana & Shaw are both UFA. That is literally it.

Year 3 you better have backup plans for quite a bit of guys in case they get big offers elsewhere. Miller, Brantley, Tomlin, & Allen. You also have Guyer, Chisenhall & Mcallister. All of which are replaceable. It actually makes bringing up Zimmer this year much more important IMO.

If the team goes deep, they have more money to play with due to the extra games, increased revenue, etc. If that happens one would hope that there is a correlation between winning and our attendance. If our attendance isn't complete shit + people spend at the concession stands...we have even more revenue to spend & retain.

What does this mean?

NM he explains in comments below.
For those of you who dont want to click on this ugly persons twitter account, he defines it as balls that go 20 ft over the wall or 50 ft past it. Basically Edwin crushes shit.

That's not very nice. Some of us* here are very ugly.

*not me. I once scored an 8.7 on hotornot.com

Lose a 1st round pick though...guessing they overslot some guys with their comp pick and round 2 pick now then.

They did grab Jones later than projected cause teams felt he wouldn't sign. I see the Indians doing this type of play again next season to get that 1st round talent that falls then go over to make sure they get him.

Well if the Fans do not come out for this team, then the Indians may as well move, this signing is one of the biggest in the franchise history in a lot of ways.

Boobie keeps saying it's a bad draft next year with 2018 being an absolute monster

If that's the case, this is the year to give it up

Though, this might knock us out of the competitive balance picks, not sure on that

Yep, as Bimbo said.

Free agency 2018 is loaded.

Draft class of 2017 is solid, actually probably trends pretty good IMO.
