I was floating this around to some friends and it was an idea that I very much so liked and wanted to see what some others thought about it.

Anyways how would people feel if the Cav's released Eric Snow and used his money to sign another player.

I was thinking sign both Daniels and Jasikevicius or a combination of one of the 2 and maybe Abdur-Rahim.
If the Cavs get SAR then they'd try to trade Gooden for another point guard.

Just an idea but was looking for some feedback.

1. If Cleveland releases Snow, his contract still counts against the salary cap unless he is bought out.

2. If Cleveland releases Snow, they are making a big mistake. He may not be the best PG in the league, but he's a veteran who does his job and is a great teammate/person. You don't get too many of those.

I concur with you Troy. The Cavalier's cannot utilise this rule as they are under the salry cap. We cap perhapse use this in latter seasons when we will be well and truly over the cap.

Eric Snow has great value to this ball club. Too many fans are fixated with show time and stats. They forget the small fundamentals that are intergral to every teams success. We also lack veterans on this ball club, so his experience, particulary finals experience will be intergral as we grow.

Eric Snow isn't going anywhere. He has established himself in this organization and city and that value alone will give second thoughts to the Cavs organization. He gets people involved and fills seats in different ways than the other players.

Add that Eric is just an all round nice guy. He is one of the nicest people you will meet. He does alot of work for charities, why do you think he's won several Community Assist awards?

Eric Snow is a great guy

I think he's a great guy too. I just wish he were a better basketball player. I can see the Cavs playing him one more year, hopefully as a back-up to SJ or AD, and then, as his already-excessive salary becomes an even heavier millstone, cutting him under the new CBA agreement.

Nah, if the Cavs were to do that, they'd still be paying his salary and it would still count against the cap, the only they wouldn't pay is the luxury tax Snow would cost them.

Take Dallas for example. They can cut Michael Finley, and they are saving $51 million from the luxury tax they would be paying from Finley's salary. However, the rest of Finley's actual contract still counts against the Mavs salary cap.

Eric who? I don't even want to hear his name! What am I speaking, Chinese?

Replace him or you guys will have the worst starting pg in the division. :chuckles:

Eventually you'll be scratching your head when TJ Ford doesn't deliver because he's being hounded by Snow. Just wait and see.

Wake up duder. Get the crust out of your eyes. Snow is waaaay past his prime. Let's put him on the NBA good guys promotional tour with David Robinson and Bob Lanier.

As far as keeping up with TJ, go turn on the classic cartoon network and catch an episode of Roadrunner featuring Wile E. Snow. You get the picture. Beep Beep!

GET A POINT GAURD CLEVELAND AND THEN TALK PLAYOFFS!

TJ, I am happy that you are participating in our threads. I just hope every thread you post in, doesn't turn out to be another Milwaukee Bucks thread. Stay in topic.

Eric Snow is not going to be our starting PG. Being a smart defender keeps him very valuable on our team, it would be a mistake to let him go.

Or we can talk playoffs whenever the hell we want and just tell you to go jerk off in the corner to TJ Ford and grow up. :jerkoff:

haha yeah tj check under your bed for some astro-glide and some old tapes of ray allen in a buck uni. haha

WHOA!!!!!!!! cavsdawgtribe wash your mouth out with soap buddy :chuckles: ..... what are they teaching in health class these days? (KY warm gel is the way to go, the females love it, but you didn't hear that from me though  )

ANYWAYS.. snow is a good keep for us, although anybody that wants him to be a starter needs a gun up to their head with 16 in the clip and 1 in the hole (warren g, nate dogg)

i love his "d" off the bench, and he is one of those veterans you need around as a mentor..
