Mobley is simply a modern day version of John Hot Rod Williams. Good role player but nothing near an All Star caliber player overzealous fans thought The Cavz were getting when he was drafted. The comparisons to Tim Duncan, Giannis and Kevin Garnett look pretty foolish now.

Like Hot Rod , The cavaliers will have to overpay to keep Mobley here.

I know people are lashing out because of the poor playoff performance of this team, but posts like this are just sad.

I can't believe someone would actually believe this.

Mobley as a rookie was a more impactful defender than Hot Rod ever was in his entire career.

I actually think the thing that hurt us the most with Allen being out is that Mobley couldnt guard Banchero more as he to guard the center. (WCJ or Isaac)

I think Morris needs to start and has to try and defend WCJ, that does mean minutes for Niang, but we cant just let Banchero go off, he is 75% of their offense.

Exactly. Okoro did as good a job as he could on him, but Banchero just went right over him.

My only complaint is dude needs to finish stronger.

You're 7ft tall. If you have the lane, momentum and someone meeting you at the rim, dunk that shit.

Edit: these moments were relatively early in the game

YES. He needs some lessons at the Jarrett Allen school of finishing. If the dunk is there, you fucking dunk it.

The layup he missed in the second half (don't remember 3rd or 4th quarter) had me screaming.

He doesnt have Allen's strength and might never get there. He is stronger than last year and will continue to add muscle, but he is a different player than Allen.

But i do love those extended dunks of Allen's

I think he needs to stick mostly to his strengths for the rest of this series. Rim running, moving to the dunker spot when the defenders go to help on a drive. Do some facilitating from the low key, hoist a three if they sag.

Defensively focus on helping near the restricted zone where he is elite, don't get suckered into them drawing you out to the perimeter, stick more towards the paint ready to drop and help.

Dominate where you know how to dominate. Don't over-chase, let them make mistakes trying to shoot over you. Banchero should get a steady diet of Okoro, Morris, even Niang bullying him and being as much in his space as possible with Evan to be a backstop.
