Losing a brother or sister is terrible. I lost my sister years ago. It was sudden. We hadn't even been close the last few years and that just made it worse. I got the call and fell down on the floor screaming in grief. I couldn't hold down any food for two days. Kyle is a real pro and one tough MF to be able to come back and play through the grief.

What do you do when Hood comes back, I know it’s been reported that Hood will start but does he fit better than Korver?

Kyle fits so well with Love and LeBron, spacing is great and Kyle is a marksman from deep, Is the starting lineup the best spot for him? Because it looks like it by the way he plays in it.

Very very sad... I can’t even imagine what Kyle is doing through. 27 years old and only ill a week? Damn..

I think we should just start Korver the rest of the way.

The way I see it... we used to have Kyrie so we needed a 2 guard that would defend...and JR was that guy and luckily hit a bunch of shots on top of it..

Well now, Hill is a strong perimeter defender and Korver is a good team defender. But Korver especially with Bron and Love and eventually Nance opens the offense up sooooo much..which is important because Hill is such a big downgrade from Kyrie.

Hill will guard the best backcourt guy, and maybe against Toronto we’re going to have to scheme some adjustments and maybe even use Bron on the perimeter early in games...

But I’m ready to go battle with Hill, Korver, Bron, Love, and Nance. No team in the East is beating us, IMO. And even against GS...it’s not like Klay ever dribbles so I would have no problems with putting Korver on Klay.

I like Hood but with his back and lack of familiarity with the team i really don’t want to count on him starting. If teams smell blood and ignore him it can really hurt the offense. He can be a positive player for us but I’m brining him off the bench. Just not enough time to properly integrate him with the starters.

But with Kyle and Loves spacing with Nance and LBJs pick&roll gravity with Hill spotting up in the corners? That’s a dominant offensive unit with a great interior help defender in Larry, good rebounding, playoff LeBron at free safety, and George Hill at the point of attack. Plus Kev is an underrated positional/help defender as is Kyle...and they get to be supporting defenders in that lineup which plays to their strengths....

We have a couple soft spots defensively but Nance/Bron/Hill should be able to cover most of the issues.

But I think Korver is an obvious starter at this point. I would actually try to stagger things so that Kyle is playing 100% of his 24-32 minutes with Bron.

Then when the second unit comes out we need to go with an up-tempo, gritty athletic 1-4 switchy team, but with Ante at the 5 to give Clarkson an easy target and Jose at the 1 to keep Clarkson steady and get the team into proper sets.

You didn’t finish off your second unit. Hood at 3 and Bron at 4 ?

It's literally unbelievable you guys can talk about that right now.

The news are terrible. I hope he somehow recovers from this quickly. Sad.

How do you even put something like this behind you and focus on basketball?

Focusing on basketball may be his best therapy from falling in to a depression. Everyone is different though , some use it as a force , some fall apart .

I was talking to my Dad about that this morning. What JR went through with his daughter, Korver, Channing, so hard to stay focused on your job when such tragedy hits you.

I don't know... it's a job and not some hobby that you can drift to. You need to put in the work, repetitions, stay focused on the game when your mind and body just want to rest and think about other stuff. You are questioned by the media on a daily basis and you have the other locker room bullshit you have to deal with.

It's tough and almost impossible to care about basketball at this time. And quite frankly, we need Korver at his best.

This is a forum for basketball discussion. So we were talking about basketball.

Nobody said a single negative word about Kyle. And I’m sure everyone feels terrible for the tragic loss of his younger brother. I know my thoughts are with him and his family throughout this difficult time.

Please do not try to further stifle legitimate forum discussion. If you see any posts that break the rules, please report them and we will review.

Really don’t need Korver until we run in to Toronto and the finals. 2 months from now ?

Why not? I don't trust Jr at all, Hood is injured and hasn't been good, Cedi is injured and has no experience, so what is our SG rotation? Jr and Holland?

Korver is so underrated...we looked better recently because of his insertion into the starting lineup and that's without plays being run for him.

We seriously need him because we lack scoring at the PG position and none of our SG can provide enough spacing and scoring to offset that.

We can get by, but other players and Lebron are going to need to shoulder more load.
