He can't guard Durant. Not sure why we bothered trying that in the first place. Can't happen again.
Agreed.Cavs don't have anyone who can guard him one on one the entire game.
I've strongly defended RJ at every turn but since the playoffs began he has looked a step slow and he has completely lost his ability to knock down the open three point shot.
Right now in a competition shooting important open 3 point shots I would easily bet on Derrick Williams to make twice as many as RJ.
If I were Lue I would give Derrick Williams about 10 minutes in the first half with instructions to get inside Durant's shirt defensively, don't worry about fouls but if you are going to get a whistle make it a hard foul. And, offensively keep moving and cutting, and shoot the three when it is there.
Just do it and see how it works.
I back T. Lue but not on every decision he makes. He has some Mike Brown in him when it comes to having blind spots on certain players and match-ups.Let the kid go hard and put it out there. That's why Lue was questioned (on this board at least) for not giving him some burn in these playoffs.
Physically he's a body for this series.
That's actually a good thing. Comparatively speaking, RJ the shooter makes Dudley Do Right look like fuckin' Robocop.Passed up at least 4 open jumpers in game 3.
Underrated reason we lost this year. Neither Dunleavy, Korver or even RJ could fill that RJ role from last year.
Such a smart player last year who knew when to shoot pass and drive
