Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

I haven't watched wrestling in years. I enjoyed the Stone Cold and Rock era but after they left I thought the wrestlers just weren't that interesting. Cena bores me. Any of the current guys better? Last time I watched Cena was a wannabe gangster Heel.

Cena is no longer a heel, but a baby face. Hell yes there's current guys that are better. CM Punk is the best they have.

Here's a couple promos of his:

Here's a match of his (not his best):

Bryan Danielson is ten times the wrestler Punk is. Once Hero breaks through, Punk will be the third best worker, and post-Sheild Moxley will pass Punk when they allow him to do his thing, too. One could even argue that Claudio is better than Punk is.

1. Danielson
2. Hero
3. Claudio
4. Moxley
5. Punk

Punk is the best (or second best, if ya' like Moxley as much as I do) on the mic, though.

Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

As a kid I loved wrestling, I'd watch WCW and WWE(F) all their shows and PPV's when I could. The Rock, Austin, Hogan (in his hay day), Legion of Doom, Ultimate Warrior, Macho Man, all those guys I loved. Now as I watch wrestling now, it's just laughable and I don't see how people can take it serious.

I think you've got a very solid list of guys there. I'm a huuuuuuge CM Punk fan, but I do agree that Danielson is incredible. I can't wait for him to ditch this stupid Team Hell No thing, he needs a more serious role. I also am a big Ambrose fan too. Very interested to see how Johnny Curtis fares at WM versus Jericho.

One thing is for sure, the WWE has a lot of young guys on their roster (like the Shield, Fandango) and in developmental that could be really great someday.

Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

If you don't watch wrestling, don't post in the 1 thread dedicated to wrestling's current product. If you want to know why people like wrestling, want to bash wrestling, or talk about wrestling in the past, then make a separate thread dedicated to that certain topic.

From here on out, any edits or deletions of posts I have to make will come with an infraction.

This was my opinion as well when I stopped watching. It's why I asked if the talent has improved as of late as I used to love the mindless entertainment. I may give it a look if the current talent has improved. I don't have a lot of faith if Cena is still the biggest name they have. He was one of the reasons I stopped watching.

He's only the "biggest name" they have because he's pushed like the modern day Hulk Hogan. He's the face of the company, whether he has the belt or not.

If you can get by seeing him on T.V, it's improved immensely.

As mentioned, Punk is the best thing going right now. His mic work has been off the charts over the past year & a half now. Daniel Bryan has turned everything into gold & has come into his own. And now, there's so many more recognizable names from the past coming back.

Rock has already been penned in for WrestleMania 30. Brock Lesnar is in 'til WrestleMania 31. HHH is still there. Undertaker is probably down to his last couple matches. Jericho is back & will keep making appearances.

As has been mentioned, there's a lot of good young talent now. A lot more so now than there has been in quite a while.

Sorry, Flo I wasn't intending to bash anyone.

They were smart by poaching an elite group of US wrestlers, because they can't develop anything or make a star. Punk, Hero, Danielson, Moxley, and Claudio were huge stars in CZW/ROH that legitimately sold shows and DVD's for PPV's.

Sorry, but I prefer Punks mic work over Cesaro and when I see Punk I can see an innovator in him. Daniel Bryan has made everything gold, but I still prefer Punk over him right now.

I think Bryan has Punk beat on wrestling ability, but in terms of telling the story with the storyline & general knowledge of wrestling, what to do with a mic, etc, Punk blows him out of the water.

Re: The Road to Wrestlemania - Predictions

How much does Wrestlemania cost and when is it? I may gave it a chance to see how I feel about the current batch of talent. Also, is that show where guys compete to try and be the next WWE star still exist? Basically the Ultimate Fighter for wrestling.

Next Sunday, 60 bucks, 70 bucks for HD. 4 hour show. And no, Tough Enough did not get renewed for a 2nd season (the only person still with the WWE is the first person eliminated on the show, one of Brodus Clay's dancers now.)

Wow, no idea it cost that much. I'll have to think about it. I could go pick up Bioshock for the same price.
