Forum Taking a Dive

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm with Damage.

Further; if this thread was really necessary and it's topic really an issue, I'm very sure the mods and/or admin can handle it just fine. In other words, some might feel this thread is a waste of time. ...

There's nothing wrong with the members posting concerns.

I agree with Damage that the mods do a great job & it's probably best just to let them handle it, but at the same time, the board has taken a huge hit & has gotten progressively worse since LeBron left.

There's nothing wrong with voicing concerns so the mods can keep an extra eye on things and/or determine if there is something they can do.

No, comparing this thread to what is going on in this forum are not even close.

I meant couldn't you just not waste your time looking at bad threads and let the mods handle it as they see fit? I wasn't comparing this thread to anything.

Isn't that the same thing you could do with bad posts instead of making this thread? Just a thought

Normally I would agree, but have you seen the forum lately? It almost literally hurts my eyes to find a thread that's worth posting in and/or reading some of these posts lately.

Well I discovered this place right after LeBron left - mainly because I never really was into the whole forums thing, but thats another story - so I never really got accustomed to this older, supposedly greater RCF. If threads have really hit the shitter then I suppose this wouldn't be a bad idea. However I always find the responses to bad threads hilarious.

Mods should make a Wall-Of-Shame of all the bad threads, and make it mandatory for newer members to go through these threads. It would scare them into lurking more

I agree 100% that they usually do a great job of controlling things. However this last week leading up to today is as worse as it has ever been since I've been on this forum.

Sorry, didn't mean to make you feel like a tool. I just meant that the mods will weed out the dirty uncle's.

Maybe some scrubs are being recruited so we can draft some solid members come around the summer....say...around June 23?

Or is tanking on the forum not the same thing?

This usually happens every year around the trade deadline... Usually with the hype surround the trade deadline and all the action, the site sees a lot of traffic and that translates to a lot of new users and usually the quality takes a hit... Once the hype dies down and the reality of the season sets back in, the quality usually goes back up..

We'll be on the look out but the quality of the board, unfortunately, usually dips when the site generates a lot of traffic around the busier times of the year...

People who complain about the forum taking a dive should take more of an active role themselves

I'd really like to place my name into the hat for the next mod position. Feel like I could help a lot, as my observations seems to be dead on most of the time in the past couple years. :D

You guys realize there is an ignore function right?

You guys realize there is an ignore function right?

Yes of course. But it doesn't really help when people that don't ignore them constantly quote them.

I'm confused, are you taking a stab at me? If so, I see no reason for it.

Normally I do ignore all the shitty posts but lately it has been really bad. I don't think I'm the only person who feels this way.

And what do you mean by taking more of an active role?

RCF is like the stock market. Around 32.5 is when the trade deadline occurred. Happens every year. It will bounce up, then off season trading/ free agency kicks in, and we dip down a bit.

I imagine this is what the RCF HQ looks like trying to maintain RCF during trade deadline.

by taking an active role I mean rather than spending the time to complain about shitty posts, why not start a thread or become MORE active in threads where you have an opinion

don't simply sit back and ask to be entertained and complain about it here

you will get little sympathy from me

also rather than complain about dumb or simple posters actually encourage those adding new content or insight . . .not so hard ehhh?

That's what we strive for, but then we usually just give up, start drinking in the pool and wait for the deadline to pass.

...and then the morning after the cleaning crew shows up and order is restored.
