Daughter's 6th birthday today, although I did see the first half; missed the 3rdQ, but once the Rats made it 7-6 I saw the writing on the wall.
Here's my worthless takes, take them how you like:
-Weeden didn't look terrible; that's probably him playing around 70% level.
-Mingo looked fast as hell on that sack
-CB2 still looks like a need, good thing we have that $30M in cap space
-Mitchell Schwartz----sophomore jinx?
-Fucking Greg Little. He should have been on a short leash after his stupidity all off-season long, and then benched after his first drop last week. His drops today were immediately bench-worthy AT BEST, and pack-yo-bags at worst. For all this talk about accountability, letting this guy on the field is horse shit. I like the guy's physicality, but he is not worth being out there any more. Shit, play him at RB; can't be worse than the dancing bear Trent Richardson.
-TR33 looks quite pedestrian so far, even though he is supposedly 10# lighter than last year. I fell for the 'he's got broken ribs last year' spiel as well, just to be clear. Here is my take on T-Rich: in college, he was very fast and the strongest guy on the field, compared to everyone else; now in the NFL, he has middle-of-pack RB quicks, and he is strong but no longer the most powerful guy on the field. Also, I saw a couple screen shots from the MIA game where TR33 flat-out missed some holes; I do remember some criticism about his field vision pre-draft, but nothing too alarming.
-I really thing LomBanner is looking for a read-option/dual threat QB in the draft next year.
-Run D looks great.
-Phil Taylor is a turd for that personal foul penalty on the first BAL drive.
-Craig Robertson got a bit too deep on a couple of his zone drops, and it cost them once for a big first down.
-I am starting to feel a real disconnect with this team. I live in a state with three NFL teams, and I don't really want my kids to root for a perennial losing team that has doo-doo brown as its colors. I have sent Haslam and Banner several emails (lol), and I really want to find Banner or Haslam, to tell them I am done with being a Browns fan; I'm sure they will be hurt lol.
