Dungong said:1) This was not a game won by the Cavs offense. The 86 points scored today equals what the Cavs scored in game 1 and was less than what was scored in game 2. Mike Brown said it over and over again in the post-game press conference, this game was won with defense. When he talked about momentum shifts, it was defensive momentum. How did the Cavs eat into that 10 point lead in the 3rd? It was getting enough defensive stops for the offense to slowly close the gap.
2) But what I was most impressed with was that this team again showed end of game execution. The Pistons managed to tie it up 4 times late in the 4th, and each time the Cavs responded with a score to make sure they never lost the lead or gave up momentum. Guys were hitting their free throws, I don't think anyone missed in the 4th quarter for either team. Basically, the Cavs pulled off yet another game where they had a chance to win down the stretch. For the first time I can say I like our chances when the game is tied with 2 minutes remaining. The trick from here on out is to keep these games competitive so we have a chance to win in the 4th.
