Game Preview – Friday March 19, 2010 – Cleveland Cavaliers @ Chicago Bulls
Yep, you’ve seen that right. The Cavaliers are on another game winning streak, their 6th of the season, and 12th of the past 2 seasons. They are now winners of 11 of their past 12 games, and have held 10 of those opponents to 95 points & under. The Cavaliers are not all about defense these days however, as they themselves have now scored at least 95 points in a game in 19 of their past 21 games.
The Clevelanders are coming off another close game vs. a sub .500 team at the Q, in the Pacers. The Cavaliers held a 16 point in at the end of 3, but Indiana used a 20-7 run to pull to within 3, but the home team was able to hold them off enough for the 5 point win. LeBron James fell just shy of his 2nd consecutive triple double, as he went for 32 points, 9 rebounds, 9 assists, 3 steals, & 2 blocks, while J.J Hickson went 6-10 from the floor for his 13 points. Antawn Jamison had his 9th straight game of 10+ points, going for 17 to go with 9 boards on 7-12 shooting, as Andy Varejao drained 6 of his 9 shot attempts for 13 points in the Cavalier win.
Chicago, meanwhile, is coming off a 7 point home loss to Dallas. a game that saw the Bulls outscore the Mavericks 62-49 in the 2nd half. Acie Law led 6 Bulls in double figures with 22 points off the bench on 7-8 shooting to go along with 3 boards & 3 assists, while Hakim Warrick added 13 on 5-8 shooting off the bench as well. Taj Gibson, Brad Miller, and Flip Murray chipped in 12 points apiece (Murray’s was off the bench), with Murray & Gibson adding 4 rebounds apiece & Miller dishing out 4 assists. James Johnson added 11 points on 5-9 shooting in the Bull loss.
