Game 73 | Cavs (47-25) @ Spurs (56-16) | March 27, 2017 | 8:00pm EST (Star Wars Edition)

they're tied basically. They are one win and one loss above us. But the issue is we have a much tougher schedule.

It may be close as to whether the cavs finish the season with a +.500 road record. If they lose today, they will only be 1 game over .500 at 19-18, with games remaining at atlanta, miami, chicago, and boston. Atlanta is sort of falling apart though so that should be a win.

The important game at boston, though, is the 2nd night of a back to back, where they have to travel, -and- the 3rd game in 4 nights. They will be exhausted.

-That- is why the #1 seed is so important, to get HC advantage for as much as they can, and get more rest.

Very, very likely that they rest on the front end of that back to back with Boston

Also I wouldn't read too much into the road record because a good bit of it is influenced by the fact that we rest our guys a lot on the road

Either way you won't lose many series in the playoffs where you go .500 in road games.

That's true enough. But in the reg season, you aren't playing playoff teams exclusively. I don't know what their road record is vs playoff teams. (going to go find out though)

edit: Cant find it separated like that. But the cavs are 18-13 vs teams over .500, which is more than respectable, its pretty good.

The Rockets are 16-17 vs teams over .500 for example.

Boston is 16-15. Washington is 17-16. In fact Boston, Washington, and Cleveland are the only two eastern conference teams with a +.500 record over +.500 teams.

In the west, its only the Ws and Spurs.

I find our lack of defense disturbing.

Just a quick FYI: I'm a career 4-0 on Game Threads so if the Cavs decide to put in just half the effort on the floor as I do behind a keyboard then, irrespective of our regressing trends, we might just get lucky tonight.

If/when they get smoked tonight on national tv, ty Lue might actually start catching heat.

I hate to be pessimistic, but I have a bad feeling about tonight. Hopefully I'm proven wrong.

If we lose tonight, wouldn't that make all the remaining games pretty much must-win if we want to end with the no. one seed? (We would go down a game to Boston after tonight and then tie Boston in a win over them with the tie breaker on our side, correct?) Looking at Boston's schedule, it's difficult to envision them dropping too many of their remaining games.

Lol @ the Undertaker's music being played.

I hope for the best, which is him turning it on coaching and the Cavs playing well from now on. But I feel like Lue is just riding the fumes of the Championship. Which I still feel LeBron and Kyrie won, where the coaching was okay.
